LucasArts Games (new and old!) on Steam

This is kind of cool. I know there's not many PC fans these days, but I know there's a lot of nostalgia with a lot of these games so it's awesome to see some classics like the Indiana Jones games or LOOM being available.

http://kotaku.com/5308431/lucasarts-...ssics-on-steam

The first round of releases will hit Steam on July 8 and includes these titles:

• Armed and Dangerous
• Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
• Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
• LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
• LOOM
• Star Wars Battlefront II
• Star Wars Republic Commando
• Star Wars Starfighter
• The Dig
• Thrillville: Off the Rails

Here's hoping we see more stuff like Full Throttle or Day of the Tentacle!

Yeah, way to leave off almost all the classic games. Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, Sam and Max...the list goes on. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is the only one I'd consider off that list.

I'd like to see some of the old point-and-click adventures come to XBL Marketplace.

Sweet! I'll probably grab LOOM and The Dig. I had both at one point, but I don't know where the discs went. LOOM came with a multimedia kit I got my senior year in high school. It was part of a kit that had a blazing fast 1x cd drive, soundblaster 16, and some CD games and software. Monkey Island was also in that kit. Fun times!

I'm also looking forward to the TellTale's Monkey Island games and the Monkey Island re-release coming later this month. I would like them to put Grim Fandango on there also. I loaned it to a friend years ago, and never got it back. I'd sure like to play through it again. That was an awesome game.

This is a great start. Can't wait to buy some of these.

Looks like Last Crusade will be an unreleased version. Sounds cool.

The Secret of Monkey Island is coming. Lucasarts is working on a remake of the game, and they said at E3 that if it sells well there is a possibility they may remake some of the other classics as well.

Yeah, I'm going to say BFD. I would have been interested if they were releasing on GOG, but I'll pass on DRM.

Re: LucasArts Games (new and old!) on Steam

Well, apparently Activision is following Lucas Arts and releasing some of the old Sierra games. Just saw this notification on Facebook, from Steam.

Activision has added five more games to it's catalog on Steam, including classic titles Space Quest™ Collection and King's Quest™ Collection as well as the more recent Aces of the Galaxy™, TimeShift™;, and 3D Ultra™ Minigolf Adventures. Save 25% off any of these titles when you buy before July 30!
I checked Steam's main page, and sure enough, there they are. Sweet! The Space Quest and King's Quest collections are $15 each.

I already have the Space Quest Collection on disc. I wonder if I should get the King's Quest collection on Steam just to further support this resurgence of adventure games...
