Can't wait!

Apparently, the music store already went live. $1.99 ea. for DLC. Yikes. :( I just can't see repurchasing tracks for a handheld at $2 a pop.

I'm not a fan of the $1.99 price point either. If they need to charge us for the Unplugged game too maybe give us an option for a bundle to get the same song on the PS3 AND PSP.

Yeah, that wouldn't help us lowly 360ers, though. :) Honestly, the demo had me so uncoordinated (but entertained), those 41 songs will probably last me for a while.

Ea should let you have your user name or account keep track of all the games you bought on Rockband.com. They could keep the 360 owners a discount that way.

I loved the demo. Doubt I'll get any DLC for it at those prices, but the main game should be a lot of fun.

I saw this in Target today and even after my sucking seriously on the demo...I still would like to get this. I think I may wait til there is a sale though. I have a large enough gaming backlog as it is on the PSP alone.

And there is no way I will be paying for DLC for the game. RB2 shreds my points as it is. And with The Beatles coming...not gonna happen.

So is this basically Amplitude / Frequency or does it take on the personality of a single instrument?

The main mode is all instruments and switching tracks like Amplitude. There is a warmup mode where you can play the instrument of your choice all the way through.

I hate my local Targets. They never break street dates. Stupid competent employees wrecking my good times.

In that case, I'm sold. I LOVE Amplitude. (Was planning to buy a PSP at some point, mixed with the $75 toward a console with $75 worth of trade-ins on Amazon, mixed with the Rock Band SE PSP and the fact I actually enjoyed School of Rock = win.)

FYI: TRU has a special if you buy this game at MSRP ($39.99), you get a $15 GC with it this week.

And I always have pretty good luck price matching stuff like this at BB you could try it there as well and get the instant $15 off.

I'm gonna skip it. A big draw of Rock Band for me is playing the instrument controllers. Just adds that extra level of immersion.

You're right, but this isn't actually Rock Band, it's Amplitude. It's more akin to a rhythm puzzle game than a musical instrument game.

Picked up the PSP bundle today, system seems to have come along a bit since launch and RB:Unplugged is pretty much fantastic. I sort of miss the alien ufo "music catcher" and flashy visuals of the first two games, but this will more than do.

That said, it's weird being able to play expert on the console versions and being stumped by Hard on here :lol:

Button layout is everything for a game like this. Frets on a guitar are much easier to hit with four different figures than 4 buttons in a square pattern with 1 finger.

Actually, my issue has more to do with figuring out new rhythms/switching instruments every few seconds.

Also, it's two fingers (The keys are Left, Up and Triangle, Circle. Also need to use other fingers for the trigger buttons to change tracks.)

Fired up Frequency and Amplitude again last night, the hardest difficulty in those still kick my ass as well so it isn't much of a surprise about Expert in this. All in all though, this is a fantastic game :up:.

I was super excited about this game when I first heard about it. The demo really turned me off though. I really, really suck at the switching component.

I got this today at one of my local BB. They price-matched the TRU deal and gave me $15 off and then I used this weekend's 10% coupon for an additional $2.50 off. So $22.50 plus tax isn't so bad for a game that just came out this week.

I played it some on Medium and got a little more used to the switching. Not too bad. I checked out the DLC and picked up the one Muse track but don't see myself buying a lot of DLC at 2 bucks a pop for this game. $1 for each track would be much more reasonable for what you get. Don't know whose dumb decision that was.

Got the hand of this game easily because of my endless hours playing DJ Max Fever. :D

Started out on hard and was hitting between 88 to 96% on the instruments. In the warm up mode got 98% on guitar with the Disturbed song.

I downloaded all the songs already. They added two additional more, so there are 12 DLC tracks so far.

So, I got this game tonight. I like it so far.

I'm having BIG a problem though : The track list keeps scrolling rapidly on it's own making it impossible to select a song. Anyone else have this problem? I don't know what to do about it.

Mine was doing this but not on the track list but on the band customization area and other places. I finally started messing with the analog stick and it stopped doing it. It was like the stick was stuck or something. After moving it, I didn't have that problem...at least during that session. I haven't tried it again since I got that to work.

2 bucks on the DLC is way too much for this game though. Does anyone else think so?

And I found there is a huge difference between Medium and Hard. I was doing great on Medium and thought I should likely kick ass on Hard. Wrong.

No problem here, though I'm using a brand new psp.

Yeah the jump between Medium and Hard is pretty big. Hard to Expert isn't nearly as big a jump though still very noticeable.

Each $1.99. According to VG247, these are available today. I'm not sure because it's sort of weird these would be up on (I assume) PSN when RB/RB2 DLC comes out on Thursdays.
