Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
There are rumours that MS are releasing a motion sensor camera thing for the 360. The only thing they have said is that they have something different up their sleeves.
From here. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget....sorbar-001.jpg |
Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
^ both the sensor bar and the 360 looked photoshopped in that photo. Hell, so does the screen.

Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
This may be a hint to the answer of my question:
from Joystiq: BigPark CEO: Xbox 360 exclusive will broaden audience, be playable at E3 by Ludwig Kietzmann { 26 minutes ago } What prompts a giant like Microsoft -- amidst layoffs and studio closures -- to purchase a Vancouver-based developer that's barely two years old? Aside from boasting a collection of 20-year industry veterans that have had their hands in franchises like Need For Speed, SSX and NBA Street, BigPark Inc. benefited from having its ideas being "very compatible" with those of Microsoft. That's according to BigPark CEO and co-founder Hanno Lemke, who spoke to us regarding Microsoft's recently announced plans to acquire the studio and its "extremely talented group of people." BigPark's titles (including free-to-play tower defense game, Wizard Defense) focus on online social play, digital distribution and a direct-to-consumer model. Lemke suggested that his company's upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive game, which has been in development for more than a year, would be in line with what it had released before. Resulting from a fortuitous "meeting of the minds" between BigPark and Microsoft, the game is unlikely to be a typical product aimed at the Xbox's hardcore audience (no space marines here!), instead fitting in with Microsoft's "big push to broaden the audience." A casual, free-to-play title would certainly fit the description, if one were to speculate. Though Lemke refrained from offering much detail, he confirmed that the "very new and different" title would be playable at next month's E3 -- and that it would break some rules. "[It's] pretty innovative in how it's delivered to consumers," he remarked. And if there's any doubt that the game plays a pivotal role in an audience expansion strategy, consider just what prompts a giant like Microsoft to purchase a Vancouver-based developer that's barely two years old. "It obviously goes beyond one game, right?" |

"Xbox 360 exclusive will broaden audience"
I better not see "Halo Party" revealed at E3 :grunt: |
Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
Isn't there a Jet Force Gemini rumor floating about as well?

Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
How about KOTOR 3?
|
Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
I think Bioware is knee deep in the Star Wars MMO, so I doubt KOTOR3 is on the schedule yet.
|
Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
I think that the window for putting out a sequel to that series and feed on the good will of the original is slowly closing. Obsidian did the second one so maybe another studio will do the third.
http://forums.bioware.com/viewpost.h...50244&forum=22 Pretty much (and good try Arari). I can say there is no KotOR3 from BioWare since there is no KotOR3 from BioWare. I can't comment on the MMO because there is going to be an MMO, I just can't talk about what it might or might not be. I can confirm that our Austin studio IS working on an MMO. Does that help? |

I wouldn't be surprised if Luca$Arts has had Obsidian or BioWare Edmonton or anybody else working on KotOR 3 and won't say anything until after Star Wars: The Old Republic gets released. |
Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
Rumors for E3:
Xbox Fluid (motion controller) Metal Gear Solid + Oxide Blood and a Four Leaf Clover (GTAIV DLC) "Richter" (Lionhead Studio) Forza 3 (Playable) APB Alan Wake Splinter Cell: Conviction Lost Planet 2 Assassins Creed 2 BioShock 2 Yeah, I see like 2 exclusives in there. Not enough. |
Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
Can't wait. I know we'll see a lot of cool stuff we've never seen before.

Yeah, I think you're reading the list wrong. The first six are exclusive. APB is probably exclusive, and there is a rumor of LP2 being a timed exclusive. I'm not sure what MGS Oxide is(some kind of rehash of a previous game?), but it's probably unique to the 360 since the PS3 had MGS4. That leaves two out of your list that are day & date multi-console titles.

Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
APB looks like it has potential.
They have been talking about the motion controls for the 360 for what, 2 years now? Hopefully if they ever come out they work well and are actually supported. The camera is pretty useless for any kind of gaming (why not drop some silly mini-game collections on the cheap for kids that use the camera?). I imagine a motion controller will be gimmicky, hardly used, and be a waste. Velvet Assassin sounds interesting to me but all the videos have it looking horrible so my hopes aren't too high on that one. The DLC for GTAIV actually sounds intriguing. Is it based around a new Irish character? Perhaps i will get to play through a Boondock Saints spinoff. I could get behind that. As for Alan Wake, i am looking forward to it, but i will believe it when i see it. |

Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
I think they had a great E3 with some good Exclusives, and that motion control thing looked awesome.

Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
Actually, thinking about today's announcements, were there ANY big 360 exclusives for 2009? Splinter Cell, I guess. Forza 3, for what that's worth. I think that's it. 2010 might be an awesome year for the 360, but 2009 (at least as for as exclusives) seems really light.

Re: Where Are The 360 Exclusives For 2009?
Crackdown 2 and L4D2 are big enough for me. YMMV

And I forget that L4D isn't on the PS3, but it is still on the PC (as is Splinter Cell for that matter), making it semi-exclusive, I guess. |
