add a file structure to a PS3?
I have a PS3 that doesn't see much use so I'm trying to broaden its horizons. Out of sheer laziness I would like to leave video on the machine instead of running upstairs to grab my Coupling/Scrubs/SITC DVD's. It does allow this however it just has the video's all listed, if I want to find episode 1 from season 1 from SITC, its a lot of scrolling. Is there anyway to add a file/directory structure to the video files you copy over to the PS3? The videos were in folders but only the content copied over.

Good question. I wondered how to do this too. It's kinda annoying that you can't create folders on the PS3.

Re: add a file structure to a PS3?
You can't add folders but you can edit the file names and sort.
Coupling 101 - "episode title" Scrubs 101 - "episode title" SITC 101 - "episode title" On the XMB there are sort options so the PS3 will treat all episodes of Coupling as one group etc. |

You can sort by album. And enter album info for each video. That's the way I have it.
I have kids, game videos, movie trailers, etc. Press the square button and you can see all the options you have for sort. |
Re: add a file structure to a PS3?
I'm sorry guys I may have mislead you. You need to edit the descriptions for the files you want to sort, as in, right-click properties. The naming convention I listed only works within folders, so if there is no folder you need to edit the tag information for the files themselves in order for sorting to work. Sorry for the confusion.
