"Favorite" Video Game Tournament: Selection Thread(Please Post Your Top 10)
 

This is being done in Movies and T.V. talk. So in the spirit of copying cool ideas, I thought I would start one for video games. What 10 video games do you like the most? The order of the list is not important. Be sure to include the system the game was/is on. For multi-console games, just put multi for the system.

I will keep a master list with the # of appearances of each game on people's top 10 lists. Any game that appears more then once will be eligible for the tourney. This thread will stay open for about a week. I may leave it open longer if people are still giving lists at the end of the week. After this thread is closed I will seed out the tournament based on the # of appearances for each game. Once the seeding is done we will have a single elimination tournament using polls on this forum. I will set up the actual bracket online so we can all watch the progress of the tourney.

I will take top 10 lists through Friday, April 10th at 5PM ET.

Quick question: How are we handling sports games with their years? Are we doing specific games (i.e Madden 2009) or are we doing franchises (i.e. Madden)?

Also, if you notice someone else has the same game as you, if you could write it out the same way (i.e. Super Mario Brothers in lieu of SMB), that would be helpful.

Why not hold off on tallies until voting is over? That way if someone posts something better than what 'you' initially posted you can change 'your' list up until deadline.

Good point. I think it would be good to update it periodicly though so people can also make decisions based on rankings and if their game of choice is "on the bubble."

Orangecrush18 - Unreal was the first game, it had a single player campaign and an online multiplayer that I think was packed in with Unreal Gold (it's been a while) then the actual Unreal Tournament. Unreal Tournament 2K4 was the first to include vehicle support and IMO is the much better game. Some of my facts may be a bit off but that's the general idea.

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne is an expansion to Warcraft III and IMO just saying Warcraft III covers it but some people may disagree since the Frozen throne had a campaign.

These are all games that I spent countless hours on, that I've played repeatedly, that I had a total blast with every time, and that made some sort of impression on me in terms of story, level design, or what-have-you.
