(Reverse) Sheep Round 6 — The Free-for-All Cage Match Edition

Round 6: Free-for-All Cage Match Edition

A short game where you try to out-think other forum posters.

Rules:
  • There are two types of questions: Sheep questions (1-18) and Reverse Sheep questions (20-37).
  • For Sheep questions (1-18), you want to answer what you think will be given most often by other people. For example, if the question is "Name a Zelda game" a good answer might be Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and a bad answer would be Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon.
  • For Reverse Sheep questions (20-37), you want to give the answer that you think will be given least often by other people. For example, if the question is "Name a game that has Mario in it", a terrible answer would probably be Super Mario Bros. A good answer would probably be Dr. Mario.
  • In Sheep questions, you get one negative point for every person that gives the same answer as you, including yourself. For example, if you and six other people said Ocarina of Time, all eleven seven of you would get -7 points. No points are given if you are the only person to say an answer.
  • In Reverse Sheep questions, you get one positive point for every person that gives the same answer as you, including yourself. If you and ten other people said Super Mario Bros., you would get 11 points.
  • The lowest total score wins. In the above two examples, your current score would be 11 – 7 = 5.
  • Unless otherwise noted, answer with US-released PC, console, or hand-held games only. 勇士の紋章 ディープダンジョン is not a valid answer for a question.
  • New! There are lightning rounds (marked by the !!!). In these, answers count double. Wrong answers in Reverse are still one point above the most common answer.
  • No using Google, Gamefaqs, Wikipedia, etc if you don't have to. Try to remain moral in this (i.e. don't use them to cheat).
  • Private message me your answers. Do not post them in this thread or tell anyone else.
  • I've included an Excel file if you want to keep track of your answers. Simply copy your column of answers and PM it to me when you're done.
  • To make it easier for me to score the results, please list your answers one per line and don't number the items.
  • Incorrect answers in Reverse Sheep get the number of points for the answer with the most votes + 1, making it worse than giving the worst correct answer.
  • Answers are due by Sunday, April 5th at 11:59PM EDT. Answers will be revealed the following week during business hours (to give you all something to do).
  • Question 19 is a special question. It can either be Sheep or Reverse Sheep, as determined by the closing price of Activision-Blizzard stock on April 6. If the price (in pennies) is even, it is a Sheep question. If the price (in pennies) is odd, it is a Reverse Sheep question. Since I will not get to Question 19 on the first day, there should be no problem with this one.

Also, as #4 says "finished" I assume that this generation doesn't count?

In Sheep questions, you get one negative point for every person that gives the same answer as you, including yourself. For example, if you and six other people said Ocarina of Time, all eleven of you would get -6 points. No points are given if you are the only person to say an answer.
With math like that, this round will be more luck than anything.

Sweet. Nice variety of questions, though I suck at the PC ones. I'll just have to shoot for finishing in the middle of the pack yet again. Thanks for putting another one together Bus.

Name a still-living / active musician or group whose music has not appeared (or is not scheduled to appear) in any Rock Band or Guitar Hero game. I will consider "active" meaning they still tour and record new material.
Explain this one to me. What does the '/' indicate? The way the question reads is anyone not in a game qualifies as long as they are still breathing. With the addendum it sounds like you specifically want an artist that is still active as well. Sooo... which is it, active or not? Does said group still have to be together?

Crap! I misread the Rock Band/Guitar Hero question as being an artist who HAD appeared. Are we allowed to change answers once we've submitted them?

I read it as active.

Re: (Reverse) Sheep Round 6 — The Free-for-All Cage Match Edition

Now define "active". Touring? Putting out new music? Not a recluse?

Tupac and Elvis and Kurt and Janis and Morrison are all dead, but selling records. Are they active, just not alive?

It says right next to the question in small print:
I will consider "active" meaning they still tour and record new material.

Examples of living, actively touring, actively recording artists:

Fall Out Boy
Maximo Park
Weezer
Yeah Yeah Yeahs

The only problem with all of the above artists is that they have appeared in Rock Band.

Re: (Reverse) Sheep Round 6 — The Free-for-All Cage Match Edition

So essentially the '/' doesn't belong in the question and should read:

Name a still-living active musician or group...

PC games are easier for Sheep questions because there's such a wide variety of them. For Reverse Sheep questions, you really have to "rope in" the possible answers and it can't be very open-ended.

I don't think it's that big of a problem, given how many questions we've had specific to Goldeneye or Halo. I have some silly ideas for questions, but it's my fault for not messaging you them in the previous thread asking for ideas.

I like the "name a non-Diablo 2 hack-n-slash game you never played because you were too busy playing Diablo 2" question.

25) Name a game where you control a tank.

Does this have to be a game where you exclusively control a tank?
