I know David Bateson was fired as the character model and voice for 47. That's a huge bad sign.

"Legal reasons" (money?). Bateson says he wants to do it but Io isn't responding to him.

They also got rid of composer Jesper Kyd and replaced him with two underlings.

The game looks phenomenal, but I have a bad feeling it won't be anything like the HITMAN I've come to love over the years. BLOOD MONEY is still one of my all time favorite games.

From what I just read he actually passed on it to stay with the ASSASSINS CREED series.

haha, I love how the sound at the beginning sounds just like the horns from the Inception score.

And there's my silver lining.

I had a great laugh from that. The brass was so misused and cheesy. I hope that was just for this demo reel, however.

Considerably better video quality:

Re: HITMAN V: What Do You Know About It?

I gotta say I'm mighty impressed! Seems like a great evolution of the series. Only thing I could do without is that "see through walls" deal. Thankfully it seems like you can choose just not to use it. This isn't Deus Ex after all.

I love the ending with the SWAT in the hallway. And being dressed as a cop and having that tense "do they notice me?" slowdown.

From what I understand it will be a mix of hunting and being hunted, which is a bit different than we're used to from the Hitman series. But even in this somewhat scripted public demonstration I could see tons of different ways it could've played out.

This video really skyrocketed this game to my must-have list.

Someone in another forum:

So, basically... they took Hitman, added a layer of Arkham Asylum, and then added more Leon/The Professional to round out the experience?

My wallet is dry-humping the screen where my Steam icon is like a cat in heat.
So true so true.

Hitman was always a fun series. I found myself messing around so much in order to see all the possible outcomes.

I only played the second one and hated it because of the controls, but damn if this game doesn't look awesome.

Re: HITMAN V: What Do You Know About It?

I really want confirmation you can play the game as the varied stealthy experience previous entries were like. This looks like too much emphasis on big action.

This is very reassuring. Looks like the extreme marketing and flashy additions are mostly to make the game open for newcomers. The guy narrating the video here says, once you turn off the hints system and if you don't activate the "detective mode" like vision, the game is just like the others in the series, but fully up-to-date.

IO Interactive has responded to Hitman Absolution‘s controversial Attack of the Saints trailer.

When asked about the nature of the trailer and the subsequent backlash by fans, game director Tore Blystad stated (via IGN):

We’re sorry that we offended people – that was truly not the intention of the trailer. Of course we understand, this has been a very big topic for us and we’ve been reading as much as we could of the articles and responses. We were surprised that it turned into such a huge topic. Something similar happened with our Sniper Challenge pre-order bonus… We just wanted to make something cool, it wasn’t the intention to stir up anything.

Blystad added that the trailer wasn’t made to be controversial in order to attract attention, stating it was a “big surprise” to the development team. “It was never the intention to provoke people with it.” He continued to stress that the trailer stems from a level in the game that features the same name. It was shown, apparently, as “one of any number of potential scenarios.”

Commenting on the tight-fitting nun outfits depicted in the trailer, Blystad responded by saying the Hitman franchise has “always been extreme in many ways”.

The religious themes have been there from the very beginning, along with outlandish party scenes. And there are a lot of movie influences in Hitman Absolution, like Tarantino and Rodriguez. The grindhouse theme is something that we’re using throughout the game. It tends more towards sixties exploitation movies – these were a fascination [for us] because they were so extreme.

Hitman Absolution is due for a release on November 20th. The aforementioned trailer can be seen below.
People are so fucking sensitive.
