I appreciate the offers. Like I said, it's just interesting that my area South Bay area of LA seems to be slow in reflecting these Mega Lo prices.

I was still seeing that Riddick game listed for no less than $35+ when some of you were bragging about getting it for a whole helluva lot less.
Yeah, it varies a ton. Between driving from my house to work to evening classes and back, I drive by six Targets several times a week and usually visit each of them at least every two weeks. Sometimes all but one will have a game for 25% off and that other store will have it for 75%. Other times it's the opposite. There doesn't seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason to it.

Ok I went to the same Target starseed did today, and the PS3 Riddicks were all marked and scanned at 27.98. Still got it, but I wonder if they re-adjust clearance prices if a game sells fast.

No they don't the purpose of the clearance is to get rid of it.

Yes, but 13.98 is a major loss on the item. It's possible local managers have discretion to "re-raise" clearance. How else do you explain starseed purchasing the same item for 1/2 the price 4 days ago? I looked at several copies - all scanned and were tagged 27.98. Something obviously changed.

I used to find all kinds of great deals but noticed a middle aged mom hoarding shit about 3 months ago. I rarely find anything below 50% anymore. Bitch.

Don't you have one of those in your corner you can send out? I'd love to hear a story of Mrs. Corvin tearing that woman down a few pegs.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

Stopped at the Woodridge Target this morning and the few copies of Riddick they had were also 27.98. They weren't even clearancing Mad World - it was still in the case. This is what leads me to believe local stores have some control over clearance items and what to charge for them.

They also had Tomb Raider Underworld for 14.98, Prince Of Persia for 19.98 (both PS3), and one lone copy of Frontline: Fuel Of War for 13.98 I think.

I think it more likely that they were on clearance, just not marked down or put in the right section.

Never believe shelf tags or item stickers.

I was at the Yorktown Center Target yesterday, and they had some clearance games in the case still, but listed and priced as clearance, so i think it is a YMMV as to what your target store does.

That would make sense for Mad World, but still doesn't explain why Riddick is more expensive now than last week.

Now I'm just waiting on the inevitable clearance of Call of Juarez. it was already down to $40 - I'll bite at $20.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

I have never seen the PS3 riddick below around 35 bucks or so. The 360 riddick was the one I saw multiples of for 15 bucks. I've never seen a Target raise the prices on clearance stuff back up... usually, if it's priced too low someone will clear them out and (I guess) ebay them.

Local Target put a whole stack of games on the endcaps, but most were kids games, mainly Wii stuff (and some sports games, since the new ones are coming out). Found one FF Echoes of Time DS for 20 bucks and picked that up. Waiting for Motorstorm: pacific to drop some more.

Also picked up one of those nerf guns that can convert into a wii gun for less than 4 bucks in the toy section. I wanted a nerf gun anyway, and the only gripe about it is that the handle is a bit too short... otherwise, just as good as the perfect shot to me.

Maybe that's what was 14.98 then - the 360 version. Didn't see any of those.

I'm already itching to get it - you're not helping.

If it hit $40 this fast though I have to imagine it will be cheaper soon.

Just found HAWX and RIddick for $14. Bought them both, as I liked the hawx demo and riddick was something i'd been wanting to play since the original xbox.

Yes, they had one PS3 version for $30.

The other PS3 selection was Resistance - $24, Motorstorm Pacific - $41, GHost Recon 2, i didn't check the price because i have it already.

Cool thanks - I think maybe we've figured out the discrepancy here.

The discrepancy is stock on hand vs what's selling.

Re: Target VG Clearance HUGE !!! YMMV

Just a head's up for those of you in the Inland Empire. The Rancho store on Foothill hasn't had any clearance games the past two weeks.

At the 4th Street store in Rancho, I saw Dead Space (PS3) for $20.98 and NCAA Football (360) for $20.98. No sub-$20 games.

Quite a few Wii games, but didn't catch the titles.

I just meant it sounds like the 360 version got discounted more than the PS3.

likely. And that's likely because they buy more stock of the 360 titles so those are more likely to sit on the shelves taking up space.
