Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!
I guess we just have to disagree then.
You act like I'm white knighting MS and that's not the case at all. It just seems like the only people who hold the opinion that the 360 is not worth owning because of the RROD are PS3 owners and MS haters. I've only had one RROD and it was a launch unit. It was fixed for free and returned within a week. Granted, others have had it far worse but that missing week is not enough for me to regret ever owning the system. While MS completely messed up with the RROD, I just don't see it as bad enough to avoid purchasing something that you would otherwise enjoy. Especially now when it's a well known problem that is quickly fixed and the new systems are less likely to break down.
Should people completely avoid the PS3 because of the YLOD and the fact that some updates brick the system? Not at all.

I'm good with my ps3 now, IF i come up with 300 I might get one. MS always felt to me like they were more interested in a buck than the fans, that is something else that always bothered me about them. But, meh, that's probably just me.

Those pics are both disturbing and funny at the same time. Now is that "outfit" in game or is it some extra 400 point purchase?

Dead Rising 2: Case West brings photography back

Faaaaaantastic! Dead Rising 2: Case West will feature everyone's favorite zombie-bashing photojournalist, practicing his craft by immortalizing the undead in still pictures. Developer Blue Castle Games' president, Rob Barrett, recently told Eurogamer that Frank West's return in the sequel's DLC epilogue would be accompanied by photography gameplay. Of course, West isn't there just to snap photos -- he'll join in the survival adventure co-op style.

i was just going to come here to post. pretty damn favorable. the one nitpick i have with this (and the 1st) is that I'm a "1 time through the game" kind of guy, so it kind of annoys me when I can't do everything in the 1st run through.

Yes, but he seems to be the only one giving this game an "A" grade.
Metacritic Score
It looks solid, but not great. I'm thinking about passing on it for the foreseeable future.

Game Informer has known to be a bit off regarding some games. They have given 9's to some stinkers, and 5's to some sleepers.
I'm still excited for the release, though.

The original Dead Rising had an average rating of 85 as well.

Yet it is one of my top three favorite Xbox 360 games. The only thing I didn't like about the original game was how the survivor AI was dumber than a box of rocks, and they seem to have fixed it in DR2.

This one wasn't one of my 'must haves', but the more I see and read about it, the more I want it. I might have to pick it up on Tuesday.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!
Having only played the first one years ago, can someone explain to me how the save system works in 2? What would be the best way to play this game? Just mess around and level up until you reach a high enough level to tackle the main story quests without running out of time?

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!
played for a few hours now.
Great game but has some flaws. It is almost exactly like the first game.
The loading is really annoying and slow.
Not enough save points. If you encounter a boss and die, you need to restart from the last save.
Just like the first game, keeping track of time is critical. You need to be at the safehouse by a certain time.
It is impossible to do all the missions due to time constraints. You will need to pick and choose.
The only main addition from the 1st, is that you can combine weapons.
Overall, it is a very fun game. If you love the first one, you will love this one.
