Hmmm... Alan Wake, Halo Reach, Dead Rising 2 - all $80 limited editions. These companies are working the Halo 2 method prior to next gen, trying to nudge the SRP of the regular game to $70.

New Dead Rising: Case Zero Details Surface
Set three years before the events of Dead Rising 2, Case Zero tells the prologue story of hero Chuck Greene and his daughter, who has been bitten by a zombie. Arriving at a gas station, his car is stolen and Chuck must inject his little girl with the Zombrex vaccine every 12 hours to prevent the infection from taking hold.
Dead Rising Producer, Keiji Inafune has told Andriasang that Dead Rising: Case Zero will double as the demo for Dead Rising 2, with a portion of the XBLA game playable for free. If you want to see the game through to its conclusion however, you'll have to fork out ¥500, which is the equivalent of approximately 600 Microsoft Points. Expect a price therefore of 560 Microsoft Points if Capcom is feeling generous, or 800 Points if not.
Case Zero - which will last around 3-5 hours - is set to shamble onto XBLA a month before the release of Dead Rising 2. You'll also be able to import your save into the main game, carrying over your character stats to start Chuck off with a boost.
Dead Rising 2 is due for release on September 28th, 2010 in the US with the UK and European release following on October 1st, 2010.

I agree with that. $7 isn't that bad if it's a stand-alone XBLA game. $10 would be pushing it. But, let's be honest, it's pre-release DLC with 200 extra achievement points

SDCC 10: Dead Rising: Case Zero Dated and Priced
Late last night, IGN brought you an in-depth preview of Dead Rising: Case Zero – we beat it on the Comic-Con show floor, in fact – and today, Capcom has announced a price and date for the prequel to Dead Rising 2.
Dead Rising: Case Zero is going to set you back 400 Microsoft Points on Aug. 31, 2010. On top of that, Dead Rising Executive Producer Keihi Inafune announced that the experience points and costumes you earn in Case Zero will carry over to Dead Rising 2.
As to the low price, Inafune says they could've sold the game for 800 Microsoft Points but decided against it so that everyone could get their hands on the title. He says the company is making zero dollars off the game.

$5 is perfect and I'm totally in!
And I love them putting the pressure back on Microsoft for the price by claiming they're making nothing for the enhanced demo.

Beat the demo or something maybe. I played for about 15min at E3 and barely left a gas station that you start out in. The opening movies are 5-6 minutes and you can't skip them.

I really enjoyed the first Dead Rising and the second one is the only game I'm looking forward to right now. The fact that the prequel is so cheap is really cool.

Dead Rising 2 Zombrex Edition Announced

How about instead of scouring the Las Vegas landscape in search of Zombrex for your in-game daughter, Katey, you could just go to your local game store and purchase it? Well, announced today by Capcom, is the Dead Rising 2 Zombrex Edition, for all of your hard core, zombie slaying needs!
Included in this edition are:
* Dead Rising 2 Game Disc
* High-Definition game disc with 83 Minute “Zombrex Dead Rising Sun” motion picture and 24 minute “Making of” featurette
* Steelbook case
* Zombrex “Syringe” pen
* Zombrex “Prescription” note pad
* Zombrex “Safety” card
* Zombrex “Prospectus” Sales Brochure
* Dead Rising 2 Hardback Artbook
For a tidy sum of $79.99, you can be prepared for the zombie outbreak out of game, as well as in game, if preparing for such things is your bag. Me, I don’t leave anything up to chance.
Dead Rising 2 is scheduled to release on September 28th.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

Just a quick note.
I have seen spec lists for the Zombrex Edition for PS3 also, and the "Dead Rising Sun" movie was omitted from them. So the short film will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 version...The PS3 version does include a voucher for a DR2 dynamic XMB theme though!

Dead Rising 2: Case 0 Delayed
Xbox 360 exclusive download Dead Rising 2: Case 0 was slated for download release on August 31. It won't be making that date.
In an official statement, Capcom's Japanese headquarters has stated that the game is going to be delayed. The reason for the delay is elements were discovered in the trial version that are not appropriate for a free demo.
The game has been delayed so that these issues can be rectified. Capcom has not explicitly stated what exactly needs to be corrected. The company also did not provide a new release date for the game.
Kotaku has contacted Capcom to determine whether this will impact the game's Western release.
Priced at 400 Microsoft Points, prologue Dead Rising 2: Case 0 is set between Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 and fills in the gaps between the two games.
Retail game Dead Rising 2 will be out in late September.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!
That may be the weirdest reason given for a game delay ever. I wonder if that means on XBLA release this week.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!
What? Why would you ask if it was being released then after it was already shown to be delayed?
I thought you were confused about a non-existent free demo as opposed to the just announced $5 Case 0 delay.
Perhaps you meant
Fundamental reading is hard when you're reading something that's written wrong. My bad.
