Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!
Dead Rising 2 to have online co-op (and a drug called Zombrex)
<param name="movie" value="http://www.viddler.com/simple_on_site/dbe14886" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashvars" value="fake=1"/><embed src="http://www.viddler.com/simple_on_site/dbe14886" width="437" height="265" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" flashvars="fake=1" name="viddler" ></embed></object>
Chuck Greene may know his "way around a zombie or two," as he says in this new trailer from Dead Rising 2, but he'll be facing down thousands at a time in Fortune City. Greene's daughter Katey will also be along for the ride -- she's bitten by one of the walking dead early on, and will require a daily dose of a drug called "Zombrex" during the game's 72-hour span "to stop [her] from joining the ever-growing zombie horde." Greene also comes across two supporting ladies -- one is a short-haired army jacket-wearing girl who goes on about conspiracies and "false accusations," and the other is a bombastic reporter who brings new meaning to the word "teaser."
Capcom has also announced details of the game's online co-op system. Players will be able to use an "in-game transceiver to call for assistance at any time," and when your buddy shows up, it's game on for tactics like luring zombies into a kill zone or racing around on skateboards (no really -- check the gallery below). That's in addition to the "Terror is Reality" minigame versus mode that we got to play a little while ago, which will pit up to four players against each other in a game show setting.
Dead Rising 2 will be out for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in North America on August 31, and in Japan and Europe a few short, zombie-free days later.
Hands-on from Kotaku:
"While both Chuck Greenes will be able to keep all of the spoils of their anti-zombie rampages and earn experience towards leveling up, only the Chuck Greene who hosts the online play-through will be able to save the game's progress.
The game won't, developer Blue Castle Games told Kotaku, allow two players to play with one another on a single console and television."

CAPCOM® TEAMS UP WITH PLAYBOY MAGAZINE TO BRING SEXY BACK TO DEAD RISING® 2
The Magazines of Dead Rising 2 Get Saucy as Capcom Partners Up With The Legendary Publication to Bring The Bunnies Into the Game
June 11, 2010 – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that it has partnered with Playboy magazine to have content from the iconic publication featured in its forthcoming title Dead Rising® 2, scheduled for release later this year for the Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3 and PC platforms.
Players that discover the Playboy magazine in the game will receive a unique and special upgrade for Chuck Greene, the main character in Dead Rising 2. Furthermore, players will come across Playboy ads and billboards that will feature specially selected issues from the magazine’s 57-year history.
The new magazine system for Dead Rising 2, which will feature Playboy along with various other publications, is an evolution of the popular book system from the original Dead Rising game. Along with the special Playboy issue, there will be a variety of different themed magazines that Chuck will be able to pick up for bonuses to use to help fend off the zombie hordes along the way.
“The Sin City-type environment in Dead Rising 2, Fortune City, is a natural playground for the Playboy Bunnies,” said Seon King, Senior Director of Licensing for Capcom Entertainment, Inc. “We have integrated the Playboy brand throughout the game in ways that bring even more life to Fortune City and add to the user experience.”

Dead Rising 2 Delayed In Both North America & Europe
Capcom's zombie paradise action title Dead Rising 2 was supposed to be out on August 31 in North America and September 3 in Europe. It'll now miss both those dates.
The Japanese publisher just let us know that the game will now be out on September 28 in the US and Canada, while Europeans have to wait a few days long, until October 1.
No reason was given for the delay, but we'll update you if we hear anything more.

They're going from two weeks before Halo to two weeks after? Wow, I'm no exec, but that doesn't sound like the wisest decision one could make regarding their release date.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!
Word going around today that Case Zero may be hitting the XBLM next Thursday, the 8th. No word on price. It's weird how secretive Capcom has been about this thing.
A Joystiq preview a couple weeks ago mentioned that you can level up to Level 5 in Case Zero, and then take that experience, along with whatever money you've accumulated, with you into DR2. Nice feature.

The leveling up/transfer to DR2 aspect is cool, but I think I'm still going to wait a couple days on feedback to see if it's worth it or if it's simply a demo with a price tag.

Dead Rising 2's 'Zomboni' Might Be the Icing On the Cake
Dead Rising 2's 'Terror is Reality' multiplayer mode is getting a 'Zomboni' mini-game, wherein you drive a Zamboni around an ice rink in an effort to churn up as many zombies as you can before the buzzer sounds. Better get your 'brain coats' at the ready then.
A visit to Dead Rising 2's Tape It Or Die blog yields two new screens showing the Zomboni mode, which looks suitably bloody, with arterial red splattered all over the ice. Looks like running down shambling zombies will be genuinely cool, in more ways than one.
'Terror is Reality' is a multiplayer mode for Dead Rising 2 that includes numerous online challenges for up to four-players.
Dead Rising 2 is due for release on September 28th in the US and October 1st in the UK and Europe.
