Two wines still make a quickstep.

There are a lot of different combos to make quickstep.

Spoiler:
There's a smaller scaffolding next to him. Go up there and throw something at him (I used my nail bat). It'll hit him and bounce off, falling to the ground. Jump off because he'll throw a flare, which will fire a missle. Run around the platform he's on and pick up the bat. Repeat until he's dead. Only took me about 5-7 minutes. If you can, make a Defiler (axe mixed with sledgehammer) and throw that at him, as it takes away more damage.

I only had to run back into the hotel once, and that was because my nail bat fell through one of the holes and I needed something to throw at him.

Hope that helps, and there's no guns needed.
ok, that seems more reasonable than the video blog i saw some guy. it took him like 20 minutes to beat him with a gun.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

You should never use a gun in Dead Rising. In both games, guns are considerably weaker than melee weapons. Heck, even bare handed fighting is stronger than guns... Capcom deliberately did this to focus on melee fighting rather than turning it into a shooter.

Most bosses are pretty much the same. Do a dodge roll or otherwise evade their attack and then counterattack once or twice. Attack when the boss taunts. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah, wine combined with pretty much anything makes quickstep. The Dead Rising wiki has a table of all possible combos for DR1, but there isn't such a table for DR2 yet.

fwiw, you can't use melee weapons on the the final boss either. he either blocks them or side steps them.

The final boss or final final boss? The guy you described earlier isn't the final final boss.

Spoiler:
Get the best ending and you go into overtime mode just like in the original game.

The guy you described can be beaten in melee with tenderizers. Do a forward kick to bring him to his knees, and then slash him with the tenderizers.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

Just finished the game. Thought it was pretty much exactly like the first game, but a lot easier (also, the game world seems smaller). Pretty funny to read this thread and realize how much I didn't know about (Painkiller, hidden Zombrex, etc).

Hell, I didn't even know I could give gifts to Katie until I got to the final score screen and got a big fat zero in that category.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

Just got this email from Amazon:

We’re writing to let you know there’s a delay in the delivery of the pre-order codes for the Dead Rising 2 Avatar Outfits.

We know this news is inconvenient and even disheartening to some of you, so we’re providing you with a $10 Video Games credit. We’re still working with Capcom to send the pre-order codes, and we’ll deliver them as soon as possible.
I didn't even know I was supposed to get a code for an avatar outfit.

^^ The rich get richer. You can probably sell them on Ebay since you've completed the game.

I was pissed because I didn't think I got the best ending, as they cut to credits, but then they bring you back in!

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

Finished it today, got the S ending after all was said and done. I enjoyed it but despite not taking out a quite a few of the psychos (that damn chef for example) with Fallout New Vegas and Gran Turismo 5 coming out soon, I can't see myself playing through this one again so I think I'm going to sell it. Still a really cool game and definitely glad they did a sequel as I loved the first DR.

I couldn't beat him the first time through at level 25. I started over and kicked his ass at level 43.

In one of the side rooms with the firework props, you can get a lead pipe. This seems to be the strongest melee weapon in the area. Play defensively because TK will do a lot more damage to you than you will to him. Hopefully you have leveled up enough to get the dodge roll ability. The roll makes it easy to dodge attacks. Dodge TK's attack and then counterattack him no more than twice. He will always recover and hit you before you can get a third hit in. Also watch for his taunts, those leave him wide open for a good attack. If he gets you in the grapple, you only lose half a lifebox if you succeed on the quick time event. TK will also be stunned afterward and you can get two free hits on him.

I have found three:

Spoiler:
B Ending:
Spoiler:
Chuck fails to stop Sullivan and the city is firebombed. All survivors are killed.

A Ending:
Spoiler:
Chuck stops Sullivan but never gives TK the Zombrex. The survivors escape, but Zombie TK eats Chuck.

S Ending:
Spoiler:
Chuck stops Sullivan after giving TK the Zombrex. This kicks off the overtime sequence.

There are apparently three other endings, but I haven't seen them:

Spoiler:
Ending C : Fail to Complete Case File 5-2
Keep Katey Alive

Ending D : Fail to get back to the Safe House Before 10:00 AM on Day 4

Ending F : Fail to complete Case File 5-2
Let Katey Die

I was having a lot of trouble with this boss as well. I went a made a Painkiller mixture then drank it right before I walked through the door. I was able to get their energy down to about half before the mixture wore off while using the pipe.

Dead Rising 2 'Psycho Skills Pack' Out Today

Making Chuck harder to kill and giving him an array of sharp, pointy bludgeoning weapons, the 'Psycho Skills Pack' DLC for Dead Rising 2 hits the Xbox Live Marketplace today, giving you the perfect excuse to get stabbing up some zombies.

Meat cleavers, chainsaws, axes and more brutal weapons will join Chuck's new hockey mask and blood-stained apron get up, which is available now for 160 Microsoft Points. Add it to your download queue here.

There will be more skills packs arriving in the coming weeks, with the Soldier of Fortune Skills Pack arriving next week. Take a look at Chuck going psycho with the Dead Rising 2 Psycho Skill Pack in the brief trailer.

"This free pack is necessary when playing co-op with someone who owns the "Skills Pack - Psycho" downloadable content. Once you install it, you will be able to play co-op with someone who has the "Skills Pack - Psycho" content pack. (This free pack does not allow you to wear the "Skills Pack - Psycho" costume on your own character. This pack is not necessary if you have already downloaded and installed the "Skills Pack - Psycho" content pack.)"

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

Well alright then. Is there a reason why the free ones were released so long ago? Were the skill packs available for people with codes or something?

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

Some of the packs were given away with pre-orders. For example, when I played with Tarantino he had the "Sports Fan" outfit -- so I assume that was a Best Buy giveaway.

Some of these are tempting, but to be honest my guy is so high level now that he doesn't really need the perks.
