Right near the safe house is a sports store that has both boxing gloves and mma gloves. The mma gloves can be combined with nails (nails are in the safe house tunnel maintenance room) for tenderizers. I prefer them over the knife gloves.

Painkiller makes you invulnerable to damage for about one real time minute.

Combo foods are created by mixing two food items in a blender. You get painkiller by mixing two beers or two whiskeys or two wines. Both have to be the same, so while mixing two beers and two whiskeys will give you painkiller mixing beer and whiskey together will not give you painkiller. All bars in the games have a blender so it is easy to grab some alcohol and mix it right there.

Quickstep is another good combo drink that makes you run three times faster. I don't recall exactly how you get it in DR2 but it was made from orange juice and alcohol in DR1.

In both DR1 and DR2, it is impossible to save the people at the beginning no matter what.

I think you're thinking of Energizer. Heals you and makes you invinicible for a short time. And I mean very short.

Painkiller just makes it so you can take more hits before losing a bar if I remember.

Oh and the Tiger can kiss my ass. Got the achievement for

last night with a buddy but it took us an hour to do.

Oh and also, at least with co-op, you can fail the case and keep playing (it just says the truth is lost forever) and your daughter can die and you can go on

Ah, okay thanks. It's been such a long time I don't remember how DR1 started.

Yeah, you are right. Energizer makes you completely invulnerable for 10 seconds and Painkiller reduces damage by a half or a third for a full minute. Painkiller is better in my opinion just because it lasts so much longer.

Spoiler:
Some stupid old woman lost her poodle and notices that it is outside the barricade. So she opens the barricade letting the zombies into the mall. She dies as well as everyone else at the entrance.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

I'm about halfway through the game now and loving every second of it. I was just curious about the Tiger Boss. I read that he's supposed to appear the first time you enter the Yucatan Casino, but it's hasn't happened for me yet despite running through there a bunch of times. Is this a glitch or did I have to go in at a specific time?

Edit: Ah, I just read that it can only be done at the start of the game.

Just stay right as close to the wall as possible and make sure you hit the ramps. If you don't make it on the first try you'll make it in the next.

Spoiler:
Do NOT kill the tiger. Snowflake is one of the survivors to be saved actually. On the stage there are three steaks. Get these and watch Snowflake carefully. As soon as she starts running towards you, drop a steak on the ground and back away. Snowflake should go for the steak instead. Once you give her all three steaks she will join you.

Also not only is Snowflake a survivor but she also counts as a gift for Katey. Yeah... you give your daughter a live tiger...

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

So, I did the train thing finally. So now I need some more Zombrex. I actually had some, but I used the one I got from the EMT to another survivor. Hints on where to find more w/o buying any?

Spoiler:
Have you tried the Casino closest to the Saferoom? Look for the BBQ joint with the stairs that lead up to another section of dining tables. After killing most of the zombies up there, look for the bright square lights that are hanging from the ceiling.

Climb up on the ledge and start leaping from light to light. Don't worry about making the jump as Chuck will grab hold of the light. Follow the lights until you see a ledge with a crapload of cash on it. There's some Zombrex on the ledge as well as a broadsword, a new magazine and a huge stuffed animal worth about 10K PP when you deliver it to Katey.

a zombrex in the Yucatan casino. Climb the structure in the middle of the area.

Also:

Spoiler:
There's on in the Slot Ranch Casino. It's in the 'backstage' area on some boxes on the right. If you climb the catwalk you can see it, but you have to climb/jump on the boxes to get it.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

There are four hidden Zombrex in the game. There are a bunch of youtube videos that show you how to get them. I've only found one on my own, but I haven't had time to even look for the others. I'm doing my first playthrough to get all the survivors and kill all the psychos.

Same here, I tried to play last night around midnight on the PS3 and nobody else was playing. Having not read much about it I was flipping through the instruction booklet and it sounds like there's some pretty sweet mini games, can't wait to actually be able to try it out.

I realized by reading this thread that I'm an idiot; I thought you had to have the combo card first in order to combine weapons but it sounds like you experiment to find a combination that works and then you get the combo card to remind you. So far I've only done the Drill Bucket and Bat with Nails I'll have to keep looking for some of the better items.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

The chef boss isn't tough, as long as you have a ranged weapon with you as well as something to smack him with. I posted my strategy above.

Re: Dead Rising 2: Vegas Zombies!

I don't know what it is, but it seems like the psychos in this game are generally harder than the first game. I've gotten very frustrated on at least three of them.
