Trying to remember the name of an old karate game
Anybody want to take a stab and helping me remember the name of an old possibly Amiga game?
I really can't remember much so I probably won't be much help but this has been killing me. Like I said, it may been been an Amiga game and it was a side scrolling karate game where you'd go along and fight different people. I think the point of the game was to rescue some girl. The main part I remember is that you fought the "end" guy and after him when you walked up to the girl thinking you'd won she'd kick you and kill you. I never even knew what happened after that because I was never able to get past that part. Does anybody have ANY idea what I'm talking about? |

Karateka?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karateka_(computer_game) She would only kick you if you came at her too fast, if you walked up to her slowly, you win. |

No that's not it. The gameplay is similar, but actually I think you only fight one person at a time sort of like Street Fighter rather than a bunch of guys and then a boss like Kung Fu.

Karateka's direct descendants are the still-popular Prince of Persia games.

Re: Trying to remember the name of an old karate game
I knew the answer was going to be Karateka - but I could have sworn that she kills you if you walk up to her not run. Reason being that if you walk up to her you're in a fighting stance and she mistakes you for a foe.
My favorite game in that genre and time was Ninja, because you could glitch the shit out of that game by squat-walking through walls. |
