The Video Game Deals Thread

There's an Amazon one but with tons of deals around, I thought this would be a good thread.

Eternal Sonata XBOX 360 $12.89 shipped at gogamer.com

Guitar Hero World Tour Bundle XBOX 360 for $142.09+tax shipped at Blockbuster.com with coupon code holidaysurprise (I'd guess the PS3 version is priced similarly).

Blockbuster.com 30% off games and accessories holidaysurprise.

superdeluxe 12-26-08 02:12 PM

You can get Burnout: paradise for around 20.00$ shipped (including 30% coupon). And Orange Box for around 13.xx$$ shipped.

superdeluxe 12-26-08 02:16 PM

eternal sonata is now OOS.

I'm having trouble finding Eternal Sonata, I see the retail box for $9.90 and the game for $36

superdeluxe 12-26-08 02:27 PM

Too bad. That was a good price

Jacoby Ellsbury 12-26-08 06:59 PM

Nevermind OOS

superdeluxe 12-27-08 05:25 AM

Mass Effect can be had for about 20.xx at Blockbuster.com with the 30% online coupon. Most other places its on sale for 29.99 (and that does not include tax/shipping)

Nathan A 12-27-08 09:43 AM

Fry's stores should have the following games at $10 a piece:

360-
Viking
NFS Carbon
Condemned 2
Prey

PS3-
Dark Sector
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
NBA Ballers Chosen One

They also list Spiderman WoS and Soul Calibur IV for $40 each (both systems) and Endwar (both systems) for $45.

Finally, they've got decent deals on a handful of Bluray discs:

$17.99
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Kill Bill 1 and 2
National Treasure 1 and 2
Narnia 1 and 2
Pirates of the Carib. 1, 2, and 3
The Strangers
Wall-e
Sleeping Beauty
No Country for Old Men
Ratatouille
Cars
Pixar Short Collection
Enchanted

$11.99 (Universal)
The Mummy 1/2 and Scorpion King
The Thing
Dawn of the Dead (newer version)
Eastern Promises
Casino
Miami Vice
U-571
Hulk (old version)

$9.99 (Anchor Bay
Heathers
Day of the Dead
Dawn of the Dead (old version)
Halloween
Beowulf and Grendel
To Kill a King
Evil Dead 2
Masters of Horror 1-4

So I went in-store to pick up my copy of Tom Clancy's End War with bluetooth headset at Best Buy today ($49.99 as mentioned in PS3 thread, deal still available) and also grabbed the same set with wireless headset for the Xbox 360.

Is the wireless headset for Xbox any good (it is the official one)? I have a hard time hearing people at times on the wired one, hoping this is of better quality.

Figured I'd eBay/trade the games to bring the price down on the headsets, maybe keep it for the 360 though.

Damn.. I wish we had Fry's in Michigan. I'd have rather had them then Circuit City to compete with Best Buy.

chuckd21 12-27-08 03:25 PM

Just came from FYE where they had all their original xbox games marked 75% off. Picked up 23 games for less than $70. It didn't seem like a local deal, as several bins around the store had preprinted 75% off signs posted on them.

One of the games I got, 50 Cent: Bulletproof actually has a current $5 off mail in rebate on it. I only paid $2.50 for it, so in the end they'll be paying me $2.50 to take it from them.

Games are in my trunk right now but I'll post a full list later. Until then here's what I can recall picking up:

50 Cent: Bulletproof
Voodoo Vince
Panzer Dragoon Orta
The Warriors
Fight Club
True Crime: New York City

Damn good BD prices. No Fry's here either, AFAIK.

sracer 12-27-08 05:14 PM

I just returned from Target and picked up:

PS3 - OblIVion - $15
PSP - Test Drive Unlimited - $15
PSP - FIFA Soccer 08 - $10

They had other titles with similar discounts. YMMV.

Quake1028 12-27-08 05:48 PM

Target deals are almost never worth mentioning because they are SO YMMV, even between stores in the same cities. But, they are useful to get a n idea as to what is new on clearance.

Was the Oblivion the GOTY or the original?

maingon 12-27-08 08:04 PM

I seen the orginal one at my target.

chuckd21 12-27-08 10:13 PM

All plus tax for less than $70 at FYE.

My Best Buy had 4 of the GOW2 RC Tanks for $9.99. I am sure this is a YMMV.

Michael Corvin 12-28-08 01:42 PM

$9.99 is regular price for the tank.

PopcornTreeCt 12-28-08 07:41 PM

Target has Fallout 3 on sale this week for $39.99.

And actually more than that...

All $39...

Call Of Duty: World At War (PS3/360/Wii)
Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip (PS3/360/Wii)
Midnight Club: Los Angeles (PS3/360)

superdeluxe 12-28-08 11:28 PM

Serious YMMV, but Walmart has Head Coach 2009 for 10.00 (B&M). This retails for 29.99

Xbox69 12-29-08 02:57 AM

Amazon.com has "Call of Duty: WaW" for $34.98 as today's Deal of the Day. It was this price all last week at Best Buy although Amazon will save a few bucks with no sales tax and FREE shipping.

PS3 and Xbox360 versions. Today, Monday, Dec. 29th.

Xbox 360 Streetfighter IV Tournament Edition Fightstick: $39.99

It's normally $149.99, so it's safe to say this is a huge price mistake. Even though I fully expect my order to be cancelled, I ordered one.

Blockbuster is cancelling all orders of Orange Box that was made before 12/31/08. I guess they are not honoring the coupon.

Huge YMMV I'm guessing, but Target has copies of '09 Madden Anniversary (retail $80 IIRC) on clearance for $44.98.

I believe they're canceling all the orders that haven't shipped yet. A lot of users have gotten their orders. My one order for stranglehold was canceled and it was ordered on the 24th.

If you don't check CAG, here's a smoking deal :
Walmart.com is offering the 12+1 Month Live Subscription card for $29.99 + tax. Shipping is 97 cents. Alternatively, you can have it shipped to the store for free if you really value your time that little.

That is a good deal. I think I'll pick one up. Thx.
