That seems like a really odd doorbuster. Decent way to push Kinects though I guess.

I got a fair number of DLC scratch cards from Old Navy last year. I wish they'd do that again...

So what's Harmonix's hookup with Old Navy (LRB and now Dance Central)?

What they mean though is how large is the user base for the product. Realize plenty more people had guitars than wouold have Kinect already at that point. And the fact that you could even use a controller if you so chose for Lego Raock Band so anyone with a 360 could use it as opposed to a Kinect title I presume.

I wonder how many people are going to get that game home and get pissed that it doesn't work at all. Even the advertisements downplay the fact that you need a separate peripheral to get it working.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

TRU also has a $20 GC for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (here at least) in addition to B1G1 40% off.

I walked in to buy EA Active 2 with the GC I got last week with Black Ops. $99.99 Game - $20 GC = $79.99, B1G1 40% off made Assassin's Creed $36 w/ a $20 GC. Total came out to $125 after tax for EA Active 2, AC:B, and a new $20 GC.

I love TRU this time of year, they have to be losing their asses.

I picked up AC : Brotherhood and NFS Hot Pursuit for $100 + tax and got $40 in gift cards. Also was able to use $12 in gift cards I had from the Tinkerbell promo. So it was about $92 out the door. Crazy deal (even better when you figure that a $10 deposit on Tinkerbell plus another $5 later combined with manufacturer's coupons and TRU pre-order discounts netted me the new Tinkerbell Blu Ray, Beauty and the Beast Blu Ray and $12 in GC).

Apparently they were almost out of both games. When I expressed surprise, I was told that one guy had just come in and bought 15 copies of each game! What a profiteering asshole!

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Damn, 15? What a damn douche.

Though I figure he'd go in and buy 8, return 6 hours later and get 7 more marked off $40 a piece (making it $60 per two games + $40gc.)

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I found a Tony Hawk Ride on clearance at Wal-Mart for $59 ($40 off!). The funnniest part was that they had a ton of them on the shelf at the regular price, but 2 on the clearance rack and the only thing I could see that was wrong with them was that the boxes were a little worn. Both of the ones on my clearance rack were the PS3 versions. Board and game both work fine.

Not to rain on your deal, but they're discounted because

1. The game was poorly reviewed and didn't sell well, so most places still have a ton of them

2. Tony Hawk Shred just came out, so they have to make room on the shelves.

I wouldn't be surpised if they can be found much cheaper very soon. In fact, you can get one on Amazon Marketplace right now for 46.31 shipped.

I see Singularity is 8.99 shipped at Family Video today. Think that's worth it?

It's actually not a bad game at all and for $9 bucks you can't go wrong.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Current lightning deal is Plants vs Zombies for the 360. Love it on my iPhone, imagine that PC version is better controlled than the 360 version, but what do you all think? Assuming you respond in the next 9 minutes.....
