I was going to do an in-store pickup for Super Mega Baseball for the Switch today when I saw it on sale for $25 on the app, but I went to the store after seeing your post and sure enough $16 bucks. Thanks for this!

Yeah they're having their summer rewards. 30 bucks towards 2 tickets at atom, six months siriusxm platinum, one month classpass.

I could get Starfield for 75 bucks for the Deluxe but I think I'll wait a bit and get it even cheaper. You have a month to redeem the code in the store and then it never expires.

Don't buy Starfield, play it with Game Pass.

I'm not subscribed. I use Gamepass to subscribe when there's a bunch of games I want to try and subscribe for like 2-3 months out of the year, but for a game with hundreds of hours of replay value, it's a horrible deal.

I mean even at regular price for Gamepass (and who pays that?), unless you're going to play it for like five months straight...

At the very least it makes sense to Gamepass it and then pick it up around Black Friday or the first sale if you love it. But I digress.

That's not available anymore. I got burned twice at key shops and won't do those anymore. The offers are drying up within last couple of months. They stopped that completely. Now it's 120 bucks a year. Wait until Starfield is 50 bucks or so and just pay that. Starfield in particular is the slow burn play over years kinda game. It really all depends which game you're talking about.

It's 60 bucks a year (normal price) for Live Gold and you can still upgrade it to Gamepass.

They have a current conversion rate of 12 months of gold is 4 months ultimate. The cheap days are over.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

If you use Microsoft Rewards for your Game Pass Ultimate subscription, redeeming 1 month of GPU actually gives you 3 months. Makes me wish I hadn't done a manual redemption at the beginning of the month -- that would've had me good nearly through March -- but I had enough points to take me to next year, at least.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

If you're a Prime subscriber and use the Woot app (rather than woot.com), apparently the video game stuff they have on sale is another 10% off at checkout. (And you have to go to checkout to see the final price.)

A few examples:

Watch Dogs Legion - $7.19
Cobra Kai 2 - $8.99
Saints Row - $13.49
Deathloop - $13.49
Pocky & Rocky Reshrined - $13.49
Digimon Survive - $15.29
Crash Bandicoot 4 - $17.99
Bayonetta Origins - $26.99
Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe - $38.69
Xbox Series X (Diablo IV bundle) - $509.99

really?
i just redeemed my latest code, which was acquired from Microsoft Rewards, and it only gave me one month, not three.
I have the auto-redeem for 10,500 points thing turned on not sure if that affects it.

Edit: looks like the glitch was fixed hours ago. Oh well, maybe next time.

Actually the cheap days are over but not for the reason you state. What you're doing is converting xbox live gold cards to game pass, that's a raw deal (4:1 ratio).

If you let your game pass expire, subscribe to gold, then do the conversion, it used to be that you could get 1:1. So you could subscribe up to three years of gold, then convert that to gamepass for a minimal price (like five bucks or something). They changed that a couple of weeks ago so it converts at a 3:2 rate instead of 1:1.

https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/...s-ultimate-faq

When you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, well convert any prepaid time you have on Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass, or EA Play subscriptions and apply it toward the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan at the current conversion ratio, up to a maximum of 36 months. Prepaid time conversion is final and non-refundable, and ratios are subject to change.
  • Xbox Live Gold and PC Game Pass conversion ratio: Any remaining time will convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 3:2 and be rounded up to the next full day. For example, 90 days remaining of Xbox Live Gold or PC Game Pass will convert to 60 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time.
This is still a good deal, just not as good as before.

From https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/...ltimate%20time.

12 months of Gold 4 months of Ultimate.

That's saying it's the same conversion, $60 for $60. From that page you linked. Where in that page is the better conversion?

Edit: Found it. That page has both what you said and what I said.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yes, again if you try to extend your existing Gamepass with Live codes, you get a 4:1 conversion. If you start from scratch, apply the Xbox Live codes then convert, you get 3:2 (used to be 1:1). This will probably completely go away once Live changes in September but we'll see.

The point is, if you want cheap Gamepass and you're expiring in the next month or so, you can lock in 2 years at a cheaper price.

So if mine is expired and I buy before 9/1, I could get 2 years of Ultimate at $180 with no extra conversion fee?

No, you'd have to buy 3 years of Live and convert to 2 years of Gamepass for a nominal fee (15 bucks?)

Didn't you use this trick to get your initial 3 years of Gamepass?

Yeah, 3 years of Gold $60 each $180 2 years of Ultimate, so really $195 for 2 years of ultimate.

I never did it, I bought a month at a time at key shops but I got burned twice. With the discounts over the years I still got it at a deep discount but I got tired of being burned and the shops are not as cheap as they used to be, now it's $10 for ultimate instead of $5 and I don't use the extra perks so I could just pay $10 for PC direct.
