Congratulations? Many people do. Just because you don't, doesn't mean people don't use that feature.

With some games getting some much needed updates....No Man's Sky, The Division. Fallout 4 with mods, Titanfall 2 getting a DLC pack and Paragon getting one shortly......I don't really have any games on the radar. And we went back into Dying Light, some Diablo RoS and even Borderlands and had a good time.

Can you buy a download code for Xbox One for someone else, as a gift? Want to get Battlefield for friend at that $40.19 price...

Nope, don't believe so. You would be better off giving that person an Xbox Live $$ card and giving to them before Christmas (or whenever).

Personally, I want to get Oxenfree for XB1 but my backlog is getting ridiculous at this point. Sadly, this week I haven't even had that much time to play and when I did it was like 5 minutes...so all I do is fire up Gems of War and playing a couple of PVPs and then close it again. Life with a toddler, Wheee!

No, there isn't a way to gift a purchase through the Xbox Store. You'd have to buy a digital code from a retailer, and those aren't on sale for the same price. You may be able to get a code from eBay or the trader's forum.

They sure don't make it easy to use as a Blu ray player though. They took a long time to just release a remote, unless there's a subset of people who love using the always glowing, battery draining dual shock to control playback.

Harmony remotes work with it.

? Since when?

My harmony Hub works with it but won't turn the system on, and ever since the last update the sequence of button presses it uses to turn it off doesn't work either. They also only added the functionality shortly before the authorized remote went on sale, for a long time it worked very poorly.

I think I got confused somewhere, I thought we were talking about the PS4 for some reason. I agree the Xbox One, because it uses IR, works fine with remotes. They still had horrendous playback issues at launch though. In any case I still prefer my PS3 over both as a media player.

Deftones 12-01-16 09:02 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Oh yeah, I can see how it could have seemed like I was talking about PS4. My bad for being confusing.

I did use my PS3 to play movies primarily so I had to get a remote. Fortunately it had the dongle so I could program my universal remote to work most functions.

The trial* will begin for EA Access and Origin Access members on November 30th, and become available for all players starting December 2nd on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin for PC. This will feature a full offering including all maps, modes, weapons and more including brand new content from Angel City’s Most Wanted DLC on December 3rd.
