the gamestop site is absolutely getting slammed right now. trying to get a copy of injustice for xbox360, but not having luck getting past cart.

Slammed is right. I can't get it to add it to my cart or even let me sign in to my account.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

It was a stupid promo by gamestop. They don't have the infrastructure to handle everyone from SD slamming their servers...

Gooter 06-04-13 12:27 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yup, same here. No luck.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah, it was a joke. At lease they discounted two versions with the fight stick and statue as well. Hopefully someone who wanted to pick up a copy was able to.

Thanks for making me waste 30 minutes with your shit site and your shit company, Gamestop. Well played trolling. I mean, who the fuck couldn't figure something like this would just completely slam your site? This is why you lost nearly all of my business years ago.

How much was the fight stick version? $10 as well?

Edit: Nevermind, I went to the website and saw that it was $100.

I have no great love for gamestop, but other than Amazon (and they used to have problems a few years ago, though I'm sure having cloud now helps a ton) I'd be hard pressed to think of a site that doesn't have problems when they have promotions like this.

I've given up. Not worth my time anymore.

I think the majority of people knew this was going to happen as soon as gs posted about the deal yesterday. It's just a poorly planned promo.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

You mean they actually want to sell games for $10? Of course it's a scam...

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I got a copy in my cart and made it to the checkout screen, but kept getting timeouts from there. And wasted 30 minutes doing it. Not sure why companies run promos like these, as they can't generate any goodwill from the majority of people who participate. Maybe if they'd had it in stores as well.

FYI, if you have any of those Microsoft promotional codes left and you didn't get a chance to use them before they canceled them before, it looks like they reactivated them again. One code per account though.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Do the codes show up in your e-mail or the website?

nvm it showed up on the website. I used both codes on my same gamertag and they both worked fine.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Sure enough, my one and only code finally worked. Vindication! (at least until the new system comes out and I don't buy it, wasting all my accumulated Microsoft Points)

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I have an unused, valid code, but I still get the same "technical issues" message that I've been seeing since day 1 when I try to submit an order. Guess I'm still locked out of making purchases on the MS Store.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah, that's the one. Your MS Store account is locked out. Seeking help is futile.

Thanks for this post. Finally got Sleeping Dogs. Couldn't hold out any longer at that price.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Fable 3 is currently free on Games on Demand. Probably a glitch that will get reversed, but if it is like the Fable 2 glitch from a few years ago, you can keep it if you download it before they reverse it.

Switch to MS Points payment option and it shows up as free. It might be YMMV, but it works for many people.
