I have the GOTY and that's just what it is. You install the extra content and then play the game itself from disc 1. I didn't have to enter in a key or anything, so I imagine it works for unlimited installs.

The IGN review confirmed that indeed does work.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Anybody interested in a chain on the Fallout 3 DLC disc? I can send my copy out to someone, at my expense, then they can send it to the next person at their own expense and maybe throw a few bucks in with it (or PayPal), repeat until it gets back to me.

This way you only pay shipping one time (outbound) and a minimal use fee

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Prototype and Ghostbusters are $19.99 new/ $17.99 used at GameCrazy currently.

I picked up Ghostbusters last week at that price and came very close to getting Prototype this evening, but with my huge backlog of games, it just didn't seem like a good idea right now. Still, those are great deals for games that are only 3 months old and not duds by any stretch.

And I claim position one in pinata's chain. Thanks, p!

i would be in for that.

we did something similar with a rock band disc (can't remember the details). Basically you paid to ship it to the next person first class (usually no more than $3).

Me as well would like to be added, would also like grammar lessons.

(OK VGT'ers unite.)

I don't own Fallout 3 in any iteration. Can I go ahead and install the bonus disc to my HDD and that way I'll have it when I get around to playing the first version?

I'm in for the Fallout chain as well. That'd be super-awesome, pinata.

So Harmonix deserves our money, but Bethesda doesn't?

I don't have enough money after giving everything I own to Harmonix! :P Today is especially expensive!

[soapbox]Don't mean to be one of THOSE irritating people, but seriously, how can this be condoned or allowed? How is it any different than theft or torrenting? They spend a ton of money developing new content for a game you love, and in the end you get to play it for free? [/soapbox]

Really, $40 is already cheaper than buying all the DLC outright anyway. Oh well. At any rate, can we move this train elsewhere and not clog up the Deal thread?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Ok, here's the chain as I have it so far:

Decker
SoonerDoc
MWB
Tarantino (via PM last night)
Shagrath
jonw9 (?)
murray731
Groucho

I'll be sending it out to Decker today. What'll work is if you simply PM the person above you on the list with your address so they know where to send it next. You'll be responsible for the outbound shipping cost. I'm comfortable with this list as most of the names on there are regulars so don't break my trust. The OXM Rock Band chains worked well for a while.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Oh, and if you feel like sending me a few bucks via Paypal @hotmail.com, I won't complain. Across 8 people so far that would more than make up for everyone paying for insurance to the USPS should something happen. Not required.

No, it's the new Pepsi Rock Band promotion.

Thanks, Pinata. I'll try to resist the urge to put the disc up on ebay once it arrives.
No, I'll move it along quickly.

I'm sending a note to the mod to move these posts from the VG deals threat to the Fallout 3 thread.

Can't do that. The PS3 version is a single BR disc with all the download content as well as the full game. I therefor assume that there's no installing the DLC in the PS3 version. Sorry.

Yeah well, screw off, Luddite. My PS3 gives me blow jobs.
