My advice is always to skip the minimum version of anything because it's much better to not use something to its fullest than to want it to do more than it can. Perhaps to help offset the cost, you might consider cashing in some of your other games or DVD's. Not only will it help financially, but it's less clutter to have around with a baby on the way. I mean, if you can swing $199 for the Arcade version, maybe you can come up with the difference from selling things.

Yeah, but that's Blu-ray money :(

I'll think of something.

Just an update/conclusion to my story, in case anyone gave a shit:

My wife just gave me the go-ahead for the XBOX 360. Turns out she wants one just as badly, if not more, because its so boring during the winter time.

So I just picked up the $350 bundle at Costco. I should rip it open now before she changes her mind. :D

With all the stuff they include, you'd think that they'd have an HDMI cable in there, so I still need to order one of those from monoprice and get some decent games. Who the hell wants Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indy? Are they even worth popping in?

Just a side note: I took my dad with me to Costco so he could use my membership (he's a Sam's Club) guy. He was telling me about the Wii Fit thay got that him and my mom are currently using. SO GLAD I didn't keep that Wii.

Did you just seriously ask if a Lego game was worth playing? ;)

Though it is the weakest of the series so far, it is still a lot of fun. Especially if you've enjoyed the movies.

Well, I'm a HUGE Star Wars nut, I've played a little of one of the Lego Star Wars ones and found it cute, but annoying.

Now I just need to see if my old XBOX games will play in this thing. Is there a list somewhere of what it will/won't play?

Lego Indy is a little more focused on puzzles, and a little less focused on action. It shares the same problems as the Lego Star Wars: Poor camera control, occasionally frustrating controls. If you were annoyed by the Star Wars games, I'd skip this one too.

Resident Evil 4 comes to mind. It's controls are vastly superior to using an analog stick, which is going to make play RE5 a bit of an adjustment. I hear Metroid Prime 3 also uses the IR pointer very well.

I think you made the right choice for you, Snowmaker, sounds like the games you want are on the Xbox 360.

I plan to pick a 360 up soon myself, but I could never give up my Wii (together they make up a great combo, and if I could afford it I'd get a PS3 too). There are a lot of games I love and a lot coming out within a year I will buy, plus games that I still want to get. I can't wait for Madworld, House of the Dead: Overkill, No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, Punch-Out!, Sin and Punishment 2, Fragile, Endless Ocean 2, Fatal Frame 4, The Conduit, Wii Sports Resort, Pikmin 3, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. The Wii library is really shaping up.

I loved LEGO Indiana Jones, but then I also enjoy my Wii. Maybe you shouldn't listen to me.
