In the game you play as BOY, who eats things, stretches, then poops them out. New levels are not reached by your progress, but by the progress of every player on Earth. That is, the more people play, the more levels are unlocked.

One more thing to add: As fun as the 360 is and as cool as some of its arcade games are, this is the kind of thing I feel can only be done on the PS3. Not due to hardware: I just don't see these cool art games on the 360. Your flOw, Everyday Shooter, Echochrome, Eden, etc.

Man, if only there were an Official PSN Games Thread to discuss this game in.
I don't know about this one. It doesn't look like much, but then neither did Katamari at first. We'll have to see how it plays, but knowing the good folks at Sony, there's a better than 50/50 chance that there won't be a demo any way.

The rumor is that the game will only be $5. Supposedly it's really more of a toy than a game - you just mess around with the world and the physics and make your own fun. Personally I think it looks great, but can see why someone might be unimpressed if they were expecting something more in line with Katamari.

Review is here.
Drops tomorrow.
Noby Noby Boy, released today for PS3 on the PlayStation Network, isn't like those other experiments. It's deeper, wilder, more unhinged, more radical - and more brilliant. It disposes with even the bones of gaming, reducing it down to its very core - the simple notion of play - and then elevating that to an art form. It doesn't just change your mood; it changes your whole frame of mind.

I was almost sold, but the thing really needs to eat rainbows and poop butterflies to get my money.

Will Noby have a demo?
I love these artsy PS3 games, especially Everyday Shooter & Eden. I'm looking forward to Flower but need to get through some more of my pile first before I pick up any more games.
You can bet your ass though that if the tables were turned and Sony was still king of the world, their arcade games would look more like the 360 and the 360's would look more like the PS3. I think being in third place allows developers room to experiment a lot more than on a system that pushes out a game a week.

I do as well. I love this kind of stuff on the PS3. Just these oddball experiences you can have that aren't exactly games, but are still fun as hell. flOw, Flower, all the Playstation Eye stuff and now this. Can't wait.

Yeah, the 360 really only has Braid and maybe one or two others.
But then the 360 trumps the PS3 in the boardgame category.

I like it. I really like that everyone playing is working together to reach the Moon and beyond. Played it about 30 minutes and it looks to be a fun time killer. I also like the unexpected like swallowing a dog and a person and well try that for yourself.

I've only played two worlds so far, but the one problem I'm having is this: now that i've gotten so big, i have a really hard time staying on the small world. and maybe I'm just not used to the controls yet, but when I am so big i also have no idea how to manage my back side.
but i am enjoying it. especially for $5. fun toy to play around with.

If you're too big, press on any of the analog sticks and you get smaller.
It's not so much a game as it is a toy, and a pretty fun one but not one I can spend more than 10 minutes with (at a time). But to me it's totally worth the $5.

I played this after playing for 2 hours with Flower and didn't get into it. Maybe I'll end up like The Bus and being able to play it just for a few minutes. For $5 that's not bad.
