Re: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
I finished on Medium Friday night and ran through on Hard (skipping all the cut scenes) yesterday. I also started one more run on Crushing. Stealth takes on a whole new level of importance on Crushing!
Overall, I'm still pretty blown away...and I'm dreading those "Guardians" on crushing!!!

Re: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Finished it last night and I have to say (and it seems I am the only one so far) I thought the final boss battle was sort of a let down compared to everything that came before it.
Otherwise, great game experience. Kept me wanting to play. This goes on a very short list of other games over the years that compelled me to finish them (Half-Life, KOTOR I & II and MDK).

Re: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
I don't know if the last boss was a letdown, but I will say that, on crushing difficulty, he's a real motherfucker.
I just finished my third playthrough:
First on medium, not looking for treasures, just taking in the story and amazing setpieces
Second on hard to search for treasures and get some of the weapon medals/trophies
Third on crushing because I didn't find hard all that difficult and...why not
Ridiculously spectacular game!!!!

Re: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
I thought it was THAT good.
I played it every day after work Wed-Fri and finished Friday night...then I played through once on Sat and once on Sun.
If you skip the cutscenes, it's only about a 5-6 hour game...probably longer on crushing, because there were two places that I got pretty hard stuck.

I'm doing my first run through (on normal difficulty first), and got to Chapter 9 so far. I'm very impressed with this game. The cinematics add even more to this game than it does to the first. I feel bad for going through it so quickly already.

Heh, I played through 75% of this game in 2 days and have taken nearly a week to get to 85%. I'm not a huge fan of the gunplay (only aspect that feels generic) in the game and it's quite frankly a little tedious/boring at this point. It just seems to be artificially extending the length of the game by having every damn room you go to be another massive shootout.
It's a great game, just wish they were a little more creative about the gameplay in spots.

I think the real challenge to the third game is gonna be whether or not they can get away from the set piece mentality. Throughout the title I really felt like that it was a split : gun section and adventure section. Which is totally cool by me, but for the next game I think it would be interesting to see if they could mix the too so it feels a bit more cohesive. Just imo.

Re: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
I think they did a much better job of integrating than they did on the first game. The addition of the ability to shoot/attack while hanging ensured as much.
The first game was pretty much just a cover shooter with platforming elements in-between, while in this game, it's not uncommon to have climbing, shooting while hanging, hand to hand combat, run and guning, manning a turret and shooting from cover in the same sequence. I think the train is probably the best example of this, but I can think of many others as well.

Re: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Naughty Dog teases spooky Uncharted 2 image
"We figured that Naughty Dog would tire of its propensity to tease us once Uncharted 2: Among Thieves had finally hit store shelves. However, if the developer's recent late-night tweet is any indication, its still got a few surprises up its sleeve. The aforementioned tweet simply read, "working late tonight, got a ton of things that need to get done," and included a link to the unsettling image above.
If we were to wager a guess as to what those ... things are, our early analysis would be Helghast skeletons. Now, with Halloween coming up, the skeletons thing makes sense. Helghast, though? That's just garishly non-canonical."
