Me saying Kirby Swallows the Great White Load should vouch for my honesty.

Good point. It's only fair if you allow Googling (hey look -- I'm back on that dead horse again!). Otherwise, The Bus would presumably ask a question like "What is the name of a character in some obscure game from 1997" only if he knows the characters from that game.

Groucho 12-05-08 10:34 AM

I haven't played in any of the rounds due to the no Google rule...simply because there has always been at least one question where I had no answer.

It's a bad rule for two reasons:

1. It completely screws players who don't know the answers to certain questions.

2. It's unenforceable. I guarantee you that some players are already googling.

Raul3 12-05-08 10:45 AM

Yeah, I have really bad memory, even for the Xbox questions I didn't know the answer for a lot of them.

But, since I'm not playing, you can send me your answers The Bus!

redbill 12-05-08 10:46 AM

who cares if you dont know the answers? just guess or make something up (e.g. Kirby Swallows the big white load). Its not like there's any money riding on it.

If you don't know an answer, just guess. You can still win even if you miss a question. The punishment for a wrong answer is just barely worse than giving the most popular answer.

If people cheat to win a silly message board game that offers no prizes,

Allowing answers to be looked up ruins the game. You might as well just flip coins instead.

Groucho 12-05-08 10:57 AM

Is the point of the game to pull out answers to obscure trivia questions? Or is the point to guess what answers other people won't pick?

Jeremy517 12-05-08 11:00 AM

Somewhere in between.

fumanstan 12-05-08 11:15 AM

I don't see why you wouldn't play just for not knowing one answer. I guessed on a few and finished decently in the Nintendo one.

You've inspired me with this reasoning! I'm in on the XBOX round...

Jeremy517 12-05-08 04:13 PM

For those scoring at home, you could have missed up to six questions in the Xbox round and still won.

Anyhow, I voted yes in the poll and have no problem with The Bus also playing.

That's not a bad idea. I still want to "play" but I want to make this fair.

So let's do it this way... My answers count as an answer, but I can't "win" --- that is, my score isn't tallied or anything.

Is that fair? If there's a problem with it, I don't mind not playing.

I'll have the questions up tomorrow. I'd do it now but I'm not home.

Is it tomorrow yet? :( Yes, my life is that barren.

fumanstan 12-07-08 11:45 AM

Huh? The questions have been up since yesterday evening!

pinata242 12-07-08 11:47 AM

So they have. Guess I shouldn't step away from the computer in between checking my subscribed threads and the forum if I want the new posts I haven't read to stay bold.
