I've used that kit before. It's a lot of fun.

That's so cruel.

I was rocking a tube build while trying to level up DangerClose to Pro and irritating everyone. Now I just have a revenge/anger build with tube, DC, and OMA (not Pro yet, which reduces the desire to use it as much).

I also tend to use that on TDM in Wasteland, and it's amazing that people will get blown up and run right back into that bunker. I had 16 or 17 kills the other day without ever going inside.

In that video it appeared that he was able to make the Predator missle fall faster to it's target -- can you do that? How?

Right trigger.

That is ridiculous.

(goes to make a new loadout...)

;)

I was noticing last week there were way more noob-tubers than normal. Only going to be worse now.

I mean obviously that stuff is pretty cool just to try, I'll probably try it in a round or two myself, but how is that fun?

A good player who simply plays well can put Predator, Harrier, Pave Low in the air all they want in a 'straight' game. I've done that too many times to count, hundreds of times. I changed Pave Low to Chopper Gunner and got all the emblems and titles with that no problem. I haven't played a lot lately but I'll knock out AC130 emblems and titles soon enough.

Why would someone thinks it's fun just to stand there shooting grenades in the air over and over again, to spend all that time working out the exact spot?

Seems lame and boring.

That guy owning that match in Airport looked fun as hell, not sure what he was whining about. But it would get old fast. If both teams are loaded out like he was on a team deathmatch that would be something to see.

But it's a team objective game. Imagine doing that in S&D and pretty much taking out the opfor on the first tube? That much happened on COD4 a lot. I don't see this as anything different, tho at such a point, I would have my killstreak class at Harrier, Chopper Gunner, Nuke.

It seems like it'd be fun for a few games but I got a feeling almost everyone will be doing this come dinnertime tomorrow.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

Someone tweeted fourzerotwo about spawn tubing on S&D a few weeks back, his response was more or less, "it's a strategy." I play a lot of S&D, and I've never once got naded at my spawn, but I certainly have running into some common spaces which is more anticipation by the opponents than being annoying.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

What's funny is that on WaW, Treyarch responded to complaints about spawn tubing and put a delay on. If you happened to fire your tube within that delay period, it never launches and you lose that grenade.

I wouldn't expect IF to do anything about it since it was prevalent in COD4... especially on Bog, Wetwork, Ambush, Countdown and Pipeline.

It shouldn't be bad. The videos talking about the build are a few weeks or more old. I've seen a few folks running with it in Dom but I've yet to see anyone "mortaring" points like the second video.

By the way, PS3ers will apparently be getting the patch today that should stop the last CP glitch.

How do you guys have your T.V. set? I ask because i've been playing around with the settings after getting killed a bunch from far away while i'm semi-hidden. I realize that some players are just good and know how to read the UAV map and guess where you are, but other times the person instantly locks in on me from across the map and puts a bullit right in my head. When I watch the kill cam, I don't understand how they saw me, they just zoomed in on a dark part of the screen and shot.

After watching those videos I did a bad thing and whipped up a similar load-out. I figured it would be the fastest way to level up Danger Close, Scrambler and One Man Army which are three perks I've never used before. I feel like a douche running around with my magically regenerating noob tube but it sure does work on those perks.

So right as I was sitting there feeling all proud of myself my 11 year old son strolls in and asks if he can try the game. For his first ever Xbox Live round he went 23 and 3 in TDM with the AUG HBAR. I should just let him level up for me.

As for spotting enemies from far away try boosting your brightness settings as that tend to make things easier to see.

For me it's just a matter of having become so familiar with the maps that if I see the slightest bit of variation from what I'm used to I assume it's a target and I shoot at it. 9 times out of 10 I'm right and end up with a kill.

Well I think the first part of it is a lot of players will stand still for a moment and scan for movement. I do this as well, especially when I play hardcore modes without the radar.

I recently played on my parents' 55" TV (I play on a 27" at my place) and it was so much easier to see everyone way off in the distance. So I'm sure that's a part of it too.

Good point. I play on my projector screen (roughly 10') so it's much easier to pickup a target than on my 46" upstairs.

Surround sound is essential as well to hear where people are coming from and if an enemy is sneaking up behind you.

Using One man army isn't any different than using scavenger, and you dont' have to wait for your class to change,.

Scavenger only gives you 1 noob tube shell, and you have to reload it.

I would scavenger over OMA any time. You can scavenge in the middle of a firefight, you need to be away from the action to OMA.

You have to be out of the action of sorts to get the scavenger perk, switch to the noob tube, then wait while it reloads. All of that takes even longer than OMA to load the new class.

I think scavenger only gives you tube nades when you're holding the noobtube. If the noobtube is empty, and you're shooting bullets, you don't get more tube rounds. I had to switch back to the empty noobtube before scavenging.

At least that's my experience. Maybe there's some other factors that come into play.

One other major difference. With OMA you can duck behind cover and replenish your supplies. With scavenger you need to go where someone just got killed to pick up their kit.

Got OMA Pro and Danger Close Pro last night...and proceeded to dominate. I'm not real good at this game, but I was going like 20-3, 16-4, in pretty much every match. It's funny having about 10 claymores out at a time, being on the opposite end of the map and getting a kill with one. I could see how a really good player could rack up 100 kills in a match.

If you use one noob tube, it doesn't always give you another. You have to put down your claymore or fire some bullets and reload, then it will give you a shell. If you use both of your shells, it will give you just one more shell, but you still have to reload it.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

The Commando stuff has all been said, but the one thing that gets me about the knifing guys is that with the Marathon/Lightweight/Commando set up, you can almost cruise through Claymores. We had one terrorizing in one game last night, and after he stabbed me up real nice I watched the killcam showing him sprint straight through two near-perfectly placed Claymores in a super tight alley (Invasion). Why even have Scrambler Pro in the game if that can happen?

The knifey builds don't bother me as much anymore, and I even have a class for doing it. But it'd be nice to see that tweaked.
