It depends on your connection speed as well. If you have other computers on your internet connection, it can slow down your network so netflix feeds you a poor quality stream.

I watched Heroes in HD last night, as well as Clash of the Titans in SD and both looked great :shrug:

yeah, Netflix adjusts to your network speed. if you have other connections going, it's a surefire way to get a lesser feed.

I like it, but it's still new and shiny. I never really spent a ton of time in the 360 dashboard anyway. The only thing I'm ticked about is that the older themes are pretty much useless... how hard would it have been to at least make the whole background show up. Luckily I didn't buy too many (I think I purchased a Halo one, a couple of USC ones, and one other one by accident).

The one great thing about the hard drive install is that it's quiet... it makes a big difference. Noticed some glitches playing Fable 2 from the HDD, but that could be just the game itself.

Played around w/ it a little bit more tonight and so far it seems they have fixed some of the issues/problems I was having. Every time I've fired it up the HD drive is visible, in fact after an update which ran when I popped in an HD-DVD it seems to be able to play an HD-DVD that I had all but given up on since it wasn't playing properly before. Additionally, so far ;) every time I've gone to shut it down it has done so on the first try. Still haven't tested the back USB to see if that's h/w or s/w, and I still have the IP manually set. Maybe this weekend I'll play around w/ it a bit more, but I'm supposed to get Left 4 Dead tomorrow so I'll probably be otherwise occupied -ptth-

BTW still hate the avatars though, and I discovered even another thing about them I dislike. Maybe I overlooked something but if you go in and start changing your avatar there doesn't seem to be an easy way to back out of the change and go back to the one you started w/. I eventually logged out and logged back in and that seemed to do the trick. The only option on the modify avatar screen was "save and quit" no just quit.

Do you know if there's a list of all the HD streamable stuff somewhere?

Just hit "Back" until you are at the start of the Edit Avatar application. At this point you can't "Back" out any further. Click the "Xbox Guide Button" then goto Xbox Dashboard by Y or simply press A. This will set your Avatar back to what it was before since you don't actually "Save and Quit".

Go to your netflix account. Click Watch Instantly. There's an "HD" section listed under genres.

I voted :shrug: I don't care that much about the interface since I'm not in the dashboard that much.

I think the new interface is a HUGE improvement. Not perfect and they still need to fix the messaging system and plenty of other stuff, but it is so much better now.

I give it a thumbs up. The layout is much better and the avtars, while I don't really care for that sort of thing, definitely adds a little personality to the whole experience and dare I say even a little fun.

MS did a good job.

I think it looks good, still getting used to it though. Trying to figure out how to get it to connect to XBox Live automatically. It used to just log in when I turned on the system, now I have to hit the Guide Button and hit Connect to Live to get online. Annoying!

Well I take it back... the new one has developed a problem in that whenever I leave an arcade game (at least it's only been arcade games so far) the box locks up. The drive sounds like it speeds up but the screen stays blank. Sometimes I'm able to shutdown the console via the X button, but sometimes I have to push the power button to get it to shut down.

I knew it was too good to last :(
