I think that was the best question this round. And Samba was my first thought, so I figured it was too obvious. Probably because I still play my Dreamcast... |
That was fun, thanks for the time and effort The Bus! It was fun watching the updated results show up. Too bad I still have another hour of work. :p
|
Thanks for a fun Round 2 Bus!

Didn't it also come with Perfect Dark?
I wonder what the scores would be if people read the questions. ;)

Also, without the add-on, most of Perfect Dark is inaccessible (including the single player mode). The box for Perfect Dark included the disclaimer, "Expansion Pak Required for Maximum Gameplay!" |
I'm telling you that Wiki page is not complete. I distinctly remember it being packed with Rogue Squadron, at least for a little while. Cause we had people trying to return it without the expansion pak...
|
^ That's how I got it, from Blockbuster, IIRC. I still have the N64 box in my attic should anyone need photo proof.
Oh, and not that I care, but regarding my Goldeneye weapon answer (Watch Laser), I got it from here: http://davidwonn.kontek.net/ge007stats.html I never played the game much but since it listed damage and ammo, I assumed you could tickle someone with it in game. Maybe not. |
Interesting. IGN doesn't recall that either:
The Expansion Pak, which debuted at around $50 in stores during the holiday season of 1998, was not a requirement.... So, Nintendo was smart to not require the Expansion Pak right away. It wasn't until late 1999 the Nintendo finally released a game that required the add-on to play: Donkey Kong 64. And then Nintendo did something even better -- it included the Expansion Pak in the first roll out of DK64 so no player was left behind. That is how you foster good will for an add-on. The 32X used its own series of games, splintering the audience for the add-on. Nintendo's approach was far more inclusive, waiting a year before ever thinking of making the memory booster essential. The second (and only other) game that required the Expansion Pak was 2000's Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Majora's Mask did not include an Expansion Pak. Even at the end of the Rogue Squadron review you have: 1. Buy the 4MB Expansion Pak. Without it, you won't see Rogue anywhere near its full potential. |

Well, if the OP's not around why don't we organize Reverse Sheep? I would say that Googling or using Wikipedia is OK in this round. I've purposefully tried to make the questions not too open-ended.
Round 2: Reverse Sheep 01) Name a playable character in Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers. 02) Name a Nintendo handheld or system that has been announced or released in North America. 03) Name a weapon or item used in the Mario Kart series. 04) Name a Final Fantasy game that was released in the US. 05) Name a console series that used an official NFL or NBA license: teams, league name, players, etc. (Note: Name a specific game only if it's not part of a specific series. Madden 2005 is a wrong answer. "Madden series" is not.) 06) Name a weapon used in Goldeneye for the N64. 07) Name a US launch title on a Playstation system or portable. 08) Name a released movie that is based on a video game. 09) Name a LucasArts adventure game released between 1986 and 2000. 10) Name a currently-announced or past Guitar Hero or Rock Band game or expansion. (Track Packs do not count). 11) Name a Robot Master (boss villain) from the first three Mega Man games on the NES (Example: Snake Man from Mega Man 3). 12) Name an XBLA or PSN game that has had its own thread on this forum (before today!). 13) Name a Sonic the Hedgehog game. 14) Name a US-released game that requires a specific controller or attachment and/or was sold with one. 15) Name an already-released game developed by Blizzard. Answers are due by 3PM EST, <s>11/18/2008</s> 11/19/2008. All rules stand as decided by Jeremy. PM me for answers, obviously. New thread, as per J's suggestion: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/video-game-...oard-game.html  That was posted in the 1st thread at 2:21. I submitted my answers at 2:43, nearly an hour before this thread existed. So, suck it :p |

Well, I'm not going to admit defeat on this, but the 3 boxes I have that indicate expansion pack support (Rogue Squadron, Battle for Naboo, and Majora's Mask) all say they're enhanced for it, but none of them say they include it.
It's possible they were shrink-wrapped together or something, but I can't prove. Luckily, you can't disprove it so we can both suck it ;) |
