Just curious...what is everyone's routine? I usually find all of my fossils, turn them in, then go to the gate. I try to go out and if there are no open towns, I open mine to visitors until I am done playing (about an hour). I rarely see any towns open. Maybe the timing is just off. :-)

I go to Nook's and see if he has any axes for sale. I also buy any items not in my catalog. If he does I chop down as many trees as I can in a certain area, and replant with fruit that has grown from previous days of doing this. If I happen to find fossils, so be it. I have stopped trying to look for them in that damn dirt.
After that I will open my gates or go out depending on who is there. The past few days I haven't been able to do that due to my internet connection being VERY flaky.
Then maybe I will shake some trees, catch some bees, and fish a little. If it's snowing, I focus pretty much on fishing due to the fact that it brings out the good fish.

My town's getting a snowstorm tomorrow too. My Nook's is also closed tomorrow as he'll be upgrading to Nookway.
I'm usually on anywhere between 5 and 7pm on weeknights. I haven't had a chance to open my town up lately, but I'll start opening it up again.
This is a first I've seen in Animal Crossing - but one of my neighbors told me if I chopped done exactly 1 tree in Ibiza, I should see plenty of fossils in my town.

I have been following the turnip thread at animalcrossingcommunity.com. I was able to sell mine last week for I think 400 something. It really helps.

Thanks for letting me visiting tonight Hung. You really have a nice town.
Can anyone help me with this problem? How can you visit another town via the DS Suitcase? I tried visiting my Wife's town on her DS tonight and it says her friend is incorrect. When she put in my friend code on your DS, it said my friend code is incorrect. What are we doing wrong? Thanks for any help you can pass my way.

I thought the DS suitcase was so that you could transfer your character to your DS, and then bring it to someone else's Wii. I don't think you can go visit the DS game.

Also I will finish adding the last people today. I was able to visit someone's town yesterday who had turnips going for 464. I was able to come back with 1.6 million bells. I paid off my 300k mortgage, and I will still have enough to pay off my basement. I also donated 200k to the town so that I could get a bridge in a week or so. After that, I can get the well, and then the lighthouse!

I want to go time travel to get the stuff faster, but I must resist.

Well I bought around 300k worth. I just threw them all on my second floor and then a few on my first floor. It filled up the second floor with about 5 bundles on the first. It was 3 trips to the person's town. I didn't have any furniture on the second floor. Today I got my basement, so I will be throwing them there this week.

I need to start buying turnips! Well I inadvertantly found some taboo words. I tried to give the catchphrase "nutz" and "nutzo" to my squirrel but it told me no! Same thing when I gave my bear "booboo" lol.

I got to vote on where I want my bridge built today. I can't donate any bells until the construction is complete apparently. After that, the wishing well will be mine. Then FINALLY I can get the golden axe, and really tear my town apart. I spaced some trees too close together.

I was wondering how you go about planting stuff properly.
Do you plant stuff on any and all open ground or do you make your own paths and such thru the trees/flowers?

Anyone found snowballs? I figured they would spawn close to each other and not on opposite sides of town. Rolling them over the river and thru the woods is difficult. I lost 2 one in the river and one over a cliff. The animation is great. In the river it melts away, and over the cliff it shattered.

I haven't found all three at once. I rolled two near the town entrance, but when I came back to my town later, they were gone. Don't forget the dung beetle is near snow balls, but I haven't caught one yet. Two flew away when I didn't see them. They both came when the snow ball was about my size.
I cut down EVERY tree in an area. Then I make a grid of holes with my shovel. I have found that I like having two spaces separating trees on the left and right, but three holes in between going up and down. I have gone through at least 6 axes so far doing this, and I'm only about 60% finished. When I mean space it would be like this:
XOOXOOX
OOOOOOO
OOOOOOO
OOOOOOO
XOOXOOX
The x's are trees. If you use only two spaces vertically then you won't see your character when shaking the tree above another tree. I also have been trying to leave three spaces below a river or else the tree will block your view of the river as well. It's trial and error. I planted a whole section spacing only 2 vertically which I plan to chop down later. I figure once I get the golden axe it won't be a problem to fix these things. I already have a crazy amount of fruit growing that I use specifically for planting so far.
I plan to have a row of the pine trees, but everything else will be foreign fruit. I don't plan on leaving any orange trees since they are only worth 100 anyway.
