Oh, well it still sounds like a goofy thing to be releasing for GH. Then again so was the Top Gun Theme...

Your post needs more
Rock Band is my platform of choice, but I will not be able to stay away from this. And free!

So, Amazon has that deal with Guitar Hero World Tour, I have a couple questions. How are the instruments compared to Rock Band 2? Are there any problems with using them with Rock Band? Like any glitches or any issues like that? Amazon's reviews aren't very kind to the game.

The guitar is pretty bad ass. The game and the drums leave a lot to be desired. It's easier to use the RB drums on GH than the GH drums on RB.
Do you have RB drums? What system are you looking at?

Xbox 360... I don't have either game. Other than Guitar Hero III with guitar. I was planning on getting Rock Band 2 but that deal is pretty good for World Tour.

It's a decent price for the guitar and game at $120. The drums are basically free in that deal, so you can't really go wrong.
I haven't actually played them, so don't take my word for it, but from what I understand the GH drums still have first-generation kinks to work out.

In my opinion everything in RB2 is better...the game, the drums, the guitar, the DLC.
I would only get the GH stuff as an extra addition, but if I had to choose one it would be RB2 all the way.

Amazon as well as Red Octane themselves have run deals for the guitar/game that have been pretty solid. I nabbed the guitar bundle on Amazon for $60. They've run that one a couple times. Red Octane has done multiple guitars/games for around the $100 mark.

GH:WT drums got some sensitivity issues at launch, it was a hit or miss deal. I got them at launch and they've worked wonderfully, tho.
I'm pretty sure they've worked out those issues by now..
IMO GH's Guitar and Drums completely own the RB ones (Hard/Expert drummer here).
Game is really good as well, my only gripe is that there's not nearly enough DLC.
But for $120.00 shipped it really is a no-brainer

There isn't. I meant "rather than just correcting" but I missed a word. Came off a little bitchier than I meant it that way.

What Stan Bush wants, Stan Bush gets. His motivational power jam "The Touch," featured so prominently in the animated Transformers: The Movie, is coming to Guitar Hero, according to the man behind the song.

So if I want to play online in a ranked Pro Face Off game...there is no way I can make sure I only play an expert player? It is just random on the difficulty of your opponent?

I really dont know why they did this either.
The only reasoning I see is that its less coding for them, and increases your chances of matching, instead of having to seek out Expert onlys. Or Med onlys. This way you are instantly matched and playing instead of waiting.
But it should at least be an option to exact match play only. Not removed entirely.
I love the GH drums. My original drums work fine since launch. I have only tuned them to make them better. Most of the issues are sensitivity issues and not defects. Either hitting them too hard or not hard enough.
But they should have included the tuner with the bundle to begin with and not as a support option.
I recommend that even if you dont have issues you order a free tuner while they are available just in case.
Are they perfect? No. The stand and the pedal are a bit flimsy. Which if you really bash on they start to shake and causes crosstalk and missed notes. Better separation/insulation of the pads and sturdier builds would really help if they ever make v2.0 kits.
