Re: Bioshock 2: Out in a week

I'm guessing the campaign in B2 will be much the same as B1 but I'm really interested to see how the multi-player turns out.

A week out, huh? I had no idea. I need to go back and replay the first one real quick.

Cool, you should - but no need to start a thread documenting your time in Rapture.

I enjoyed the Halo thread, and the similar threads in TV talk are always fun (at least until some jerk starts posting spoilers).

I don't mind either. If it's an old enough game, it's kinda cool to read about someone going through it for the first time. Same in the TV threads.

That trailer freaked me out for a second. It said 9-2-2010. I was like "what, September now? Noooo!"

Then I realized it wasn't the NA trailer

Color me relieved

I had the same freakout, but I wasn't crazy enough to actually post about it! Until now, I guess.

Re: Bioshock 2: Out in a week

I wonder when we'll see a review for this. I am predicting a 9.8 from IGN.

My prediction: most sites will give this high scores. One site will give it a low score, and we'll spend 2-3 pages of this thread discussing that particular review.

The latest PC Gamer mag has a review for it. They liked it a lot. I am really looking forward to it now.

Re: Bioshock 2: Out in a week

OXM gave it a 9.5..."BioShock 2 isn't a groundbreaking follow-up that rewrites all the rules laid down by its predecessor. No, think of it as a sequel that fills in the gaps, adding exciting new dimensions to what's come before... You will be utterly absorbed"

PSM3 awarded the follow-up 93%, saying it "tops the original in terms of storytelling and combat."

Re: Bioshock 2: Out in a week

I'm just hoping that the single player experince isn't lacking do to time spent developing the multi-player side of the game.

Re: Bioshock 2: Out in a week

I definitely liked the first one and it was the game that got me back into gaming but there were far too many "fetch" missions - that's the oldest of missions in the book and there's no excuse for it. As someone just previously mentioned - it got boring fast.

I know many of you will be there opening day so I'm gonna wait and ask if there are multiple fetch missions and if the game play has a forward progress instead of making you run around (and backwards) for hours on end.

Strongly doubt it'll have a forward progress, since the Bioshock experience relies so heavily on seamless atmosphere.

Re: Bioshock 2: Out in a week

I can't remember the last time I counted down days until the release of a game. Tuesday feels like Christmas.
