I know in UT3 you can have up to six or more playing co-op but that's on levels, nothing like this.

Uh... yeah, so? The actual game mechanic of increasing waves of enemies isn't new. Nor is taking that on with other players. Heck, tower defense games are essentially the same concept. Again, not that it won't be cool and bad ass to play, and the more players the better, but I still don't see where it's innovative.

Who said innovative anyway? It's about as original as the chainsaw in the original Gears. That is something I never understood. People went nuts over it like we've never had a chainsaw before.

Last Day TV Spot in HD - 30 seconds

Has anyone seen this yet? It's not saying when or what networks.

So CAG user Pure Apathy has blown my mind. I was lukewarm about the Last Day trailer, but with a simple musical change the trailer has blown me away. He remixed both the original Gears teaser and the Gears 2 teaser by swapping tunes in both.

Gears of War 2 w/ Mad World music:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3bkcufI63NU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3bkcufI63NU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Gears of War w/ Last Day music:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FJPUWdrDeig&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FJPUWdrDeig&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

and for shits and giggles he put together a third with a unique choice of music:

Gears of War 2 w/Silent Lucidity:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VllIG2m2MpQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VllIG2m2MpQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Thanks Michael for the videos. Like the Mad World music better, seems more fitting for that trailer.

After sharing the above videos with a friend, he came up with this one which is quite good:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mhnzzALqh5w&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mhnzzALqh5w&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

HEADS UP

According to Speedy's ad post, CC will be giving away a FREE 1600 point card with Gears 2. I'm thinking that's well worth forgoing a goofy RC car from Best Buy.

That's a good deal. CC is desperate for sales at this point with signs of bankruptcy looming over their head.

Here's a BB commercial about the RC Tank featuring the one and only Cole Train.

Well isn't this special...over at TeamXbox they just posted this...

Call of Duty; World At War Gets Its Own Horde Mode

Not much on it except only (4) as opposed to (6) can play and you have to complete single plyer first. Not saying anything on levels but something about "using cash to buy more weapons to help keep the Nazi Zoombies away".

Update _ New Launch Trailer Up

http://xboxmovies.teamxbox.com/xbox-...aunch-Trailer/

Short (under 35mb on SD) but pretty intense. No doubt, this is "THE GAME" of the year!

Doubtful but if you must go to BB you can always try. Price matching is one thing, price matching for a freebie item is always YMMV.

After watching that, all I can say is "wow." I loved the first game, but everything I see about the sequel has me even more pumped for it.

Heads up on a new preorder exclusive. I just stopped by Blockbuster and they are going to be having a Gears of War comic book with an exclusive cover done by DC that will bridge the story between Gears 1 and 2. I'm leaning more towards the comic book over the Best Buy toy just because I'm a comic book collector and I love the Gears story.

That's a great deal! Thanks.

A sort of related question, do any of you still have the first Gears of War? I still have it and have finished it on Hardcore. Don't care for MP but have been holding on to it in order to try to complete it on Insane and for the Dom achievements. Plus, it was a darn good game. However, I'm wondering now if I should just let go and trade/sell it since the second one is almost here.

I've actually been going through Insane with a friend this week as a refresher for me since I haven't played it in about 18 months. It's been a blast. I was never super into the multiplayer but I love the campaign, especially co-op. We're up to Act IV so far. I hope to finish it this weekend.
