I alt Strum when I have to (REALLY Fast parts), but I generally usually only downstrum on most normal strums

Always.

Wow interesting. I have always just down strummed. I play on expert and can finish about 90% of all the songs and score in the 90% maybe I should start to practice the alt.

Psh. Relatively easy. It's only recently that I alt strum as I get more comfortable doing it.

Songs like PDA by Interpol is basically a good learning experience to alt strum a whole song.

Also, RB2 requires more alt strumming than any of the other games IMO.

It'd kill my strum bar and forearm to down strum the last solo in Let There Be Rock.

Alt strum is pretty much my default, also sometimes use two fingers to alternate upstrum on bass, though that can get tiring.

Of course I have been playing real guitar a long long time so alt strumming is like breathing for me. Sometimes I might even downstrum on downbeats and upstrum on upbeats, which is also what you might do on a real guitar.

It's just flat out more fun to play this way, IMO.
