If anyone wants to play tonight invite me.

Kijdhefgi 10-13-08 11:45 PM

Sorry about not accepting the invite as I was 5-STARRING EVERY SONG ON VOCALS!

flair 10-14-08 01:46 AM

Ack, I don't think I could 5* any song on vocals.

I recorded a video to show my buddy how to try and hold the first position and roll down to the orange button. Turned out pretty crappy but maybe you can get the point. I will redo it tomorrow:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KyPkaB9rcho&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KyPkaB9rcho&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The Bus 10-14-08 09:14 AM

My favorite song to get used to the orange button is probably bass on "Can't Stand Losing You" by the Police. The Strat makes it really easy to slide down to orange when you need to.

When I switched to playing Medium early on I had a problem going from blue to red: I would usually overshoot. I'm having the same problem now with orange-red and orange-yellow.

lordwow 10-14-08 09:39 AM

I don't recall if the strat is like this, but on the Xplorer, the yellow button has a bump on it (like on a keyboard).

shumway 10-14-08 09:41 AM

On the strat they all have little braille like bumps and the yellow has 5 of them instead of I think 3 like on the other colors.

Original: :::::frets::::neck:::::[|]

DIY Fix: :::::frets::::neck:::::[ ]|

Once you do this you are really going to have to use some force putting the neck back in but once you do the neck will be tighter and you button should work again.

Thanks for this. After opening it up, I realized it was probably that connection that was bad - loose fretboard - rather than actual button contacts.

Michael Corvin 10-14-08 10:44 AM

No problem.

Time to get DR. FEELGOOD.

So maybe you Xbox 360 users can remember waaaaay back to when your version was coming out ... I know it's a YMMV situation, but in general do the 24-hour Wal-marts usually put games out pretty early on release date? I'm wondering if I should bother going first-thing on Sunday morning when I wake up (usually around 7 am), or if I should just wait until later in the day. I stopped by yesterday to get some things and noticed on the way out that they had a big sign for the PS3 version on October 19th.

argh923 10-14-08 11:52 AM

Yep...that's where I picked mine up.

pinata242 10-14-08 11:54 AM

I stopped by my Wal-Mart at like 2:30am on the way back from my wife's 10 year reunion and they hadn't received their shipment yet. Hit Best Buy right when they opened.

I went to a Target near me that opened at 8 AM. Got there a few minutes before 8, went in when the doors opened, and got 1 of the 6 or 8 copies that they had on hand. Only two other guys were there for the game at the store's opening. So that's another option if your 24-hour Wal-mart doesn't work out.

Michael Corvin 10-14-08 12:46 PM

I picked mine up at midnight at Meijer.

I was at Walmart with the wife to get mine. They had them ready and starting selling right after midnight on release day.

Have you figured this out yet? I was going back and forth between gold and five during my first 3200+ stars. I then did the Exp. Guitar Endless Setlist yesterday and it dropped to four stars!

I'm guessing that it is based on an average of your last ten songs or something like that. I tanked the last 10 of the ESL, only managing to five-star 2 songs. How did you do on the last ten?

My career score is around 12.2 mil and I've gold starred 50/84 songs in the main setlist. I've also had gold stars in about that same ratio when counting the RB1 & DLC songs.

I don't get it.

The Bus 10-14-08 01:07 PM

The nearest Wal-Mart to me hadn't even received the shipment as of 10:30PM that night. I just picked it up Sunday afternoon.

Here's something interesting from A360P - 2 new RB titles with achievements:

I guess you're SOL if you already have these as DLC. :|

Yeah, I think it's meant for people that don't buy DLC. Can't blame them, but it would be a quick rental for most of us. I wonder if this will support ripping because I only have El Scorcho of what they list and all the others are on my Want/Maybe list.

Michael Corvin 10-14-08 02:14 PM

I like this one on the AC/DC pack:

2. ALLLLLLLL Night Long!
Play through every song on AC/DC LIVE in one session.

How long is Donnington, assuming they don't cut any tracks down?

99 minutes per instrument on the PR.

And assuming you 5* all of them at once, you'd only have a few replays to pick up some quick achievements on other instruments. Would be easy to get most and turn around. I doubt I'd get any of the 100% on Expert AC/DC.

Michael Corvin 10-14-08 02:25 PM

Hour and a half ain't bad. I can see doing that. I doubt I'd 100% any expert either.

lordwow 10-14-08 02:32 PM

God damn Rock Band, I want those achievements, and I don't wanna buy no stinking disk.
