Anyone else getting Age of Booty? I'd love to partake of some multiplayer pillaging.

As a PS3 user, don't you feel your booty has already been pillaged enough?

See what I did there? Yeah, take it!

My booty seems to be in pretty good shape, you know, cuz as a PS3 user it's the testicles that are hurtin. When they start going for the booty it might be time to go back to the Wii and actually open some Mario Galaxy. Nobody can hurt me in the G-rated world of Wii.

And strangely enough, the testicle shots have even eased in their ferocity. Either that or Little Big Planet is a rather nice anesthetic.

Okay, I loaded up Age of Booty last night after a furious drum session on RB that left my right thigh in a permanent state of convulsion. I was already in pain and then the effin Go Go's popped up at the end of a four song mystery set. Bastards. Anyway.

Age of Booty...

I played through a couple of easy stages. At first it seems that the game requires absolutely no strategy... and then you realize it does require some strategy but not all that much. Upgrades to your ship during each level are minimal unless it expands later on. I don't see the single-player game having a ton of replay. The goals are different for each level, but not overly long -- making it a good candidate for a fifteen minute pick up and play session. DLC content expansion looks to be inevitable. Where this game becomes quite a bit of fun, however, is the online multiplayer. If you favor Pirates over Ninjas, I think you'll get at least $10 worth out of this game -- especially if you get a band of Pirates together. Otherwise, waiting for the inevitable sale is probably a better idea. AoB really just makes me wish that Sid Meier would step up with a new Pirates! game...

Anything you guys would like to see for $5 instead of $9.99 during PSN's potential Black Friday sale?

Indeed. Calling all Cars, Everyday Shooter, Pixeljunk Racers, and flOw were $5 a pop.

I would like a sale on MM9 and, completely dreaming, but SSF2THD Remix on sale that day first week would be awesome.

I'd love to save $5 or $10 on Wipeout HD. I'd pick up Commando 3 if it were $5. Probably they'll mark down The Last Guy since I paid full price for that one. We'll see...

Thanks for the reminder though; I had totally forgot about the sale last year.

Just posted this in the PS3 thread, but thought that it would be worth mentioning here, as well as a great deal in prep for the Friday sale.

If you have a Meijer near you, in their local ad is a coupon for 20% off PSN cards (as well as XBL cards) for Tuesday Nov 25th only. (found on CAG)

Hate to work against the grain on ya, but I'm hoping The Last Guy will be one of the sale games.

With Capcom's Street Fighter HD hitting right before Turkey Day, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if MM9 -- also available from the other download stores -- got a price break for Black Friday.

Looks like it's Pixeljunk Eden, echochrome, The Last Guy, Novastrike, and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando. Thanks to darkside for reporting in the PS3 thread.

I'm thinking about Eden, which you seem to like a lot, Michael. I didn't really dig the demo much, though.

I just paid full price a couple of days ago (didn't know about the expected sale/didn't see the thread) so I expect it to be one of the titles

If you didn't dig the demo than definitely don't buy the game. The demo is a very accurate representation of what you are getting. The only thing that really changes is different types of enemies in each world. The play mechanics are the same in level 1 as they are in level 60.

Having never owned a Playstation until the PS3, I'd love to check out Wipeout, but $10 is my max on DLC content.

I'll probably get Commando during the sale since I had a good time with the demo; would've also bought Echochrome, but I got it in a "trade" with another PSN user a few weeks ago.

I picked up Commando 3, Eden and echochrome. I'm digging Commando and what I have messed with in echochrome, but I don't know about Eden. A little more tedious than I realized. That count down timer ruins the experience, but I guess its a necessary evil for the gameplay. Again, this was my first 10 minutes with the game so I'm sure I will get the hang of it. Hate to complain about a $5 game anyway.

Just sucks that I have to wait until summer for the next $5 sale.

Eden is NOT a relaxing game, imo. After you've played some of the harder levels, going back to the first ones might be relaxing...but overall it's very frustrating. I like it, but enjoy PJ Monsters much more (though they're nothing alike). So addicting...

Anyway - new $5 sale! Definitely getting The Last Guy now, but is Echochrome worth it?

Oh my, yes. I love echochrome. Try the demo. It's only like two levels after the long, forced tutorial but it'll give you a really good idea of what the game is like.

I'm finding it extremely frustrating and not my cup of tea at all. I should have spent more time with the demo before buying. I admire the art and sound, but the gameplay is infuriating. I constantly miss when it looks to me like my guy landed right on the limb or I slide right past the thing I'm trying to grab. It is going in my backlog for now. I have too much good to play to waste time with this. I'm loving echochrome and Commando 3 though so overall I'm very happy with the games I picked up.

I think I'm the only one that's been waiting on this game(pours one out for Pixy), but Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer will be hitting the PlayStation®Network on December 4th at a price of $9.99 only. Press Release

^ it might be worth checking out for that price, but I played it on the PC and found it to be tediously BORING - probably the slowest paced SHMUP I've ever played, and not slow-paced in a good way either. And while it initially looked nice, it really had no character or depth to how it looked and played - it felt really plastic. If they put up a demo, try that first.
