Favre on Madden 09 cover
Favre's still in a Packers uniform for Madden 09 and it's getting released on Tuesday. Any chance the cover gets re-done by EA or are we all shit out of luck? I assume the games have shipped and are sitting in Gamestop storage rooms already.

That stinks because I don't have a laser printer and photo quality paper. Just ink jet and plain paper.

I was wondering when a Madden 09 thread would be started!
I don't really give a flying fuck who is on the cover (especially some guy who can't even pronounce his own name correctly). I just want the damn game!!!

For someone who doesn't have the luxury of having a color laser printer and photo quality paper, would any of the copy stores be able to print this out? Like Kinkos or Office Max or do you think they will shoot me down because of possible copyright infringement?

I've heard that they frown on that, but you could try explaining to them that EA themselves sanctioned this.
Is it really a big deal though? Unless you're a hardcore Jets fan who wants to celebrate it, does it really matter that he's in a Packers uniform on the cover? You're likely going to move on to the next one in a year anyway.

As someone who has created/printed DVD covers for years and follows that scene, it is highly YMMV on getting Kinko's or one of the other places to print them due to copyright issues. Some will, some won't, so there is no clear cut answer other than to just give it a shot.
You don't need a quality laser printer either, a simple inkjet photo printer works wonders. I've printed 100s of covers that look amazing. I use an Epson R200.

Since it's supposedly offered by EA specifically to download and print, i'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to show Kinko's or whatever copy place you're at the webpage and say "look, it tells me to print it out."

Buy it at Sam's Club and they will print out the cover for you at no charge.
Not bad since games are generally $5 cheaper at Sam's.

There are a few threads here on Madden, but since I really haven't played any Madden games before, I have a question. So I got my IQ, which was rookie, and when I played the first game, I liked the set up (very few choices on offense, defense, etc....probably like four or so for each). I did some training, and the second game had a lot more options on offense, defense, etc but I can't figure out why. Is it because my IQ went up and the game automatically gave me those options? How can I just get back to the limited choices again? I want to just take my time to learn some of the plays before I move up in difficulty.
Just curious.

I've only played a few games, but before starting there's an option at the bottom where you can choose Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or whatever that includes number to rewinds and whatnot. Maybe changing that setting?

Correct...the option for Beginner, Int, Adv and HARDCORE gives players rewinds and opens up more options in the playbook. I just leave at Hardcore, since REWIND is for wussies.

I actually like the design of the special edition case, plus, no Favre at all, so no need for a new cover. Only played a little last night, and ended up with a 7-7 tie, Browns vs. Bengals... I guess pre-season games only go to one overtime then quit? I freaking missed an easy field goal in OT too.
I like the Madden IQ thing, though it's true that the virtual offense is way too easy to get ranked high (it tells you exactly which move to make when running the ball to get past the defender, for instance), and it takes a few turns of getting destroyed before it drops down to whatever your real skill is. And I still suck on defense, so no problem getting properly ranked there.
The Collinsworth insights are the best part of the commentary.
