ok, this is probably a stupid question, but how do you play co-op on story mode? I'm not very far into the game at all, but I did come across a level where it required 2 people to get all the stickers (some ghost level).

Nice, I just got the ok to take the rest of the day off, the roommates are off painting their house, and my wife is out to meetings with her clients for most of the day! I'm off for some LBP goodness!

I've got no problem with that, but how do you make him go away? My daughter wants to drop out of the difficult parts, Lego-Indy-style, but we haven't figured out how to do that yet.

I'm going to suggest - turn the controller off? Not trying to be a wiesacre, but that would seem logical. Let us know if that works.

I'll give that a try -- it's better than nothing, but seems like more trouble than it needs to be.

Anyone else get some trophies while playing user-designed levels? To me, that totally defeats the purpose of them if some clown can design a level that gives you an insane amount of points at once. I think that's a flaw in the trophy system that would have never happened with Achievements.

How would it be any different with achievements? I'd say it's more a flaw with the requirements for that specific trophy and the fact that LBP lets you design whatever levels you want, not a problem with the achievement system vs. the trophy system. Maybe I'm just not fully understanding.

Yeah, just turn off the controller. That's what I do when my daughter leaves.

Just wondering...

My fiance and I started playing co-op and finished the first couple of levels the other night. We loaded it up again and both popped out of the spawn point. My sackboy was all decked out like I had him but hers wasn't. It only took a couple of seconds for her to redo it, but is there a way to save her custom character so she pops out out of the spawn point ready to go?

I think the game only saves the primary character.

Bring up your poppit and go to the rightmost menu and there is a save option. Therefore you can save different costumes w/o having to redo them every time. (I have Kratos & Nariko saved). Even if it doesn't automatically remember player 2's last configuration at least you will have a saved costume that is easy to load up instead of redoing it every time.

Wow. I'm not sure if giving out trophies for user levels is such a great idea. I just got about 5 of them just by playing two levels. Hell you can even search for 'Trophy' and pull up a bunch geared towards getting the different Trophies.

*edit - just search for '1mill trophy!' and you can probably get about 4 or 5 just on that one.

That's what I was saying; it totally devalues the trophies if you can accidently unlock a bunch going through some user-made points-fest. Too bad they didn't think of that before -- that little flaw suddenly made this game into the "Avatar" of trophy collecting.

Looks like Media Molecule took complaints to heart. The most recent update appears to have fixed the dongle issue. I was surprised when I realized I still had it plugged in last night and no surprise Sackboys jumped into the game.

Yikes!

Well, I published my Moon Patrol level yesterday, psyched to see if anyone in the world would play it, rough and primitive though it may be. Two people did, and one of them marked it... RUBBISH! Ow!! Back to the drawing board - that's what I get for jumping the gun!

I'm working on the buggy still to tweak it better, and here are the things I've done:

*Given it "shocks" in the form of springs connected to squares and the bottom of the chassis - now the wheels are motor bolted to the squares and the spring are stiff and strong
*Changed the glass on top into a side thin windshield and put the three-way switch inside the cavity created when I removed the original glass

I still have to:
*Mount the jumpers (I'll make two of them synched) on the bottom of the chassis and attach them to my three-way switch
*Create a trigger switch placed in the cavity that activates the wheels' motion instead of the three-way and keeps them on; in the original arcade game, the buggy was always in motion anyway, except for at the start and end of the board
*Attach the two "cannons" I have to the three way switch so that they fire when needed

The level itself is rather bland right now, but I'm still working it to create hazards and rewards similar to the original arcade game. I decided to just hang the attacking spaceships from dark matter with some loose pistons since there's really no good way to make them fly. I'll also put brains on the bottom to destroy them when hit - may just create an inert laser-like projectile to launch from the rear emitter. They'll be dropping bombs to destroy the dissolve terrain or you!

It's a lot of work but it's fun!

How do you search for user-created levels by star-rating?

How exactly does the "synch" setting work? I have a cannon that rotates on a piston and an emitter that fires. I would like it to fire only when the piston is fully extended (cannon pointing towards the ground), but I was having a heck of a time getting it timed - I eventually gave up and just set different times to the two objects. If they could synch together it would be great. Neither the instruction book, nor the tutorial for emitters, nor the Brady guide (looked at in the store last night just to figure this out) have any information that I could find on the synch setting.

Ok, I figured out what was going on. Apparently crappy 3rd party Logitech controllers do not work with this game!! Pissed me off because I had to go buy a new PS3 controller just to play 2 players. That'll teach me to buy 3rd party crap!

Haven't really messed with synch, but if I get the chance I'll let you know.

This game is great, but I really need to find a friend that wants to play cause it seems like that is the REAL way to play it. Also, between this and Fallout 3, I've definitely been devoting more time to Fallout 3. And, I think I must suck at platformers cause I've been dying a lot in this one,

Finally played this yesterday for a bit...having no idea what I was getting myself into, I loved it. It's just so much different than everything else (been playing Fallout and guitar games mostly), really a breath of fresh air.
