I sent the email off to USA Today for the beta code but I guess they gave them all out since I never received a reply. Oh well, it comes out in a couple of weeks for real anyway, I can wait! It looks amazing, and from what I've heard about some of the homebrew levels, people have been doing some really creative things.

But I hope being slammed like this helps them figure out how not to make it happen when the full game is released. I will say though, this has been the first night I've had any trouble whatsoever being online with the game.

For those who fit the requirements for the official site's giveaway but never received the code, a new post on the site stated "When choosing people for exclusive opportunities like a beta we look for people who are 18+ years old, have a PSN account in the US, and have opted-in for marketing materials (under Notification Preferences in PSN Account Management.)"
So my assumption is if you didn't get one, then you're not signed up for the marketing materials. Now you may be able to turn that on and still get your code or have them resend to you, but I don't know. Could be worth a shot.

I played the Beta last night and had a lot of fun with the included levels. I was unable to find any of the created levels and just assumed that it was a server problem. i'll try again tonight as I am looking forward to playing some of the cool levels that have been made.

TLWizard hooked me up last night. I played the game and it was enjoyable. I'm still a bit on the fence about getting it. I have a big backlog already....but this was fun. Still have to get the hang of it though.

It's a load of fun! I got my beta key finally from USA Today only an hour after I requested it. I have been playing the included levels to earn more stuff. I enjoyed the level with the boots and ghosts on it - had to figure out the jetpack/barrel dynamic three times before I got it! Unfortunately I'm heading out of town tomorrow and won't be back until Monday, so I only have tonight to play! I believe the beta's over as of October 12th - hopefully a demo will come out between then and the 21st!
