Moving Pictures is an incredible album, I hope that's true. But if so why would we have gotten covers of two of the songs already? Would the rest of the songs be covers as well? Seems like it would be better to pick a different album than resort to that...though I do want to play those songs so I would definitely buy.

I just want Nevermind so I can belt out, "Come on people now, smile on your brother everybody get together... try to love one another, right now!"

Hmmm... I wonder about this. "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight" are already accounted for, "YYZ" is an instrumental (do they dare?), and "The Camera Eye" is almost eleven minutes long (the album's other three songs are "Red Barchetta", "Witch Hunt", and "Vital Signs").

But, speaking as someone who prefers to play bass in the game, I would be one unspeakably happy camper if this comes to pass.
More Rush is always a good thing but like you said, we already have Tom Sawyer and Limelight. YYZ is in GH2. That leaves four new tracks. Why not just do a four or five track pack like Boston?

Maybe they will go back and give us master tracks of Tom Sawyer and Limelight.

I'm be happy with that, the cover of Tom Sawyer is one of the most cringe inducing things I've heard in Rock Band.

Would prefer 2112, A Farewell to Kings, or Hemispheres, but those would probably get pretty boring for the vocalist. Either way, gotta hope for master tracks...

Yeah, I seldom play it because of that. Masters would be greatly appreciated.

That's true. I'd forgotten they were covers. I'd definitely be down for the full, master, album.

More Dr. Teeth love... just for the fun of it.

I was just telling my wife that "Can You Picture That" would be awesome on Rock Band...glad others agree!

Here's a couple other songs I'm hoping see the light of day:

"That Thing You Do!" - The Wonders (or Oneders)

"Ana Ng" - They Might Be Giants (or, honestly, any TMBG)

Any White Stripes

That would be awesome. Incredibly simple, but fun.

I'd definitely purchase all of that. The Muppets in Rock Band would be awesome.

DLC Post is fully updated for this week. Haven't gotten a chance to play them myself yet, but from looking at the charts, I gathered this information.

Afterlife - Holy hell solo! Drums also sound good.
Critical Acclaim - Easier than Afterlife, but still pretty shredding at parts. Drums also hard.
Hammerhead - Killer drum chart!
Rock N Roll Dream - Easiest song this week, but that's not saying much.

I'm sort of torn. I'm not in love with that Offspring song, but it is definitely the most enjoyable of the bunch and I would like to encourage more songs from them in the future. Do you think future DLC decisions are heavily influenced by past results?

I don't know exactly how it works, but I'd guess that sales factor in at least a little bit. I also doubt that they would just license one song at a time and probably go to the band/record company with a handful of songs they would like to license, so that they don't have to continually keep going back to the same artist asking for more permissions/masters.

^ So I think I'll wait it out. Should the song grow on me, it'll always be there.

That's the main reason I was considering getting it.

I think it may play a small factor but the more I think about it, with the promotional songs they've done from the Offspring, Motley Crue and Disturbed, there are, obviously, far better songs in their catalog that people want. I think it is more of a case of 'Hey, we'll promote your new single(s) with DLC now, if you give us X song(s)for RB2 for the fall.'

If we don't see any 'classic tunes' in future DLC with these artists, I think it is a fairly safe bet that we will see them in Rock Band 2.

Great theory. I'm in line for RB2 anyway, so that'd be great.

Attn: pinata242, atkick, and EVERYONE ELSE!

Looks like you're getting your wish. Potential Offspring 6-pack incoming! Directly confirmed from Offspring.com.

Coming soon for Rock Band:
“Come Out And Play [Keep ‘Em Separated]“
“Self Esteem“
“Gone Away“
“All I Want“
“Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)“
”The Kids Aren‘t Alright"

Looks like a good mix of songs from their various albums. Practically a greatest hits. Awesome!
