Yeah, the ps3 will upconvert. But, I don't know. My PS2 is sitting in the bedroom with that TV, and the only games I've ever played on this one year old cheapy PS2, is the God Of War games, MGS 3, and a couple Prince of Persias. I have a PS3 now and I don't see myself playing games too often on my old PS2 now.
