Psyched enough to buy the 360 version and sell off my PS3 one. Definitely looking forward to it.

Looks like I'll be picking up a copy of GTA for the 360 as well even though I have the PS3 version.

A small look at the upcoming DLC. Sounds kinda neat.

You think they will let us play with Niko in the new areas and/or with the new weapons?

http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/947/947252p1.html

And IGN's look.

Depending on skill level and amount of time you spend messing around, Rockstar expects The Lost and Damned to take anywhere from 12-20 hours to complete. And that's just the single-player story. For $20 (1,600 MSP), L&D offers a full-fledged campaign, new locations, new mini-games (arm wrestling!), refined gameplay mechanics, new vehicles, new weapons, a hefty new soundtrack, new DJs, new TV shows, new Internet sites, and new multiplayer. One thing's for certain: Rockstar isn't dicking around with horse armor.

To access The Lost & Damned, boot up a copy of GTA IV and start a new game. You can now choose between GTA IV and L&D. Though both take place in Liberty City, the two are separate stories and separate game worlds, meaning you don't gain access to the new interiors in L&D if you're playing GTA IV. You can't take Niko into The Lost clubhouse to kill a bunch of bikers, sorry. Aside from the initial download, you won't need an Xbox Live connection to play L&D. Unlike some downloadable content, there's no online verification required. So if the 'net goes down, you can still take L&D for a spin.

I wonder how much space it will take up on the HD?

Re: The Official GTA IV - multi console super friends thread - Part 2!

I felt like such a geek last night. I was so excited that I found a Coquette (Corvette) painted just like Face's from the A-Team. I jumped out of the Coquette I was actually driving at the time and stole it and parked it in my save spot!

It was the first one I've seen. Is it common?

Does this only apply to L&D missions, or do we get this on the original missions too?

As far as I understand, nothing from L&D is retroactively applied to the regular GTA4.

There are settings for the display within the game. We were having a hard time seeing anything, and I finally changed the settings and it is much better.

It's odd. I have a 50" (not HD) and some of the text is hard to read.
Spoiler:
There is a mission where you snipe someone through a window. You are supposed to read his phone number off the phone, and call him so that he gets in front of the window. I couldn't read the numbers! WHen I saw them in the cut scene I thought "I should write that down" but then it was too late.

I finally shot anyway and he got up and got in front of the window.

Re: The Official GTA IV - multi console super friends thread - Part 2!

So last night my friend and i met up for some free mode in GTA, (man we can just screw around for hours in this game) anyhoo, we both received a very quick little download when we first started the game. (xbox 360) anyone know exactly what that was for? and when it came out? The last time I played was a week ago or less and did not get prompted for the download then.....Thanks

A couple days ago I had that and I think it just made the GPS ding everytime you come to a turn. I switched that off after about 2 minutes of playing with it dinging every twenty feet. That's the only thing I can think of.

I wonder if it just added some Lost and the Damned compatibility too.

The dinging is really annoying.

Another thing I noticed they changed (for the worse): When you hit start the "Game" portion flashes until you click on Downloads. Thanks.

Re: The Official GTA IV - multi console super friends thread - Part 2!

So I took GTA over to my in-laws to play on their rediculous 73" flat screen (they have a PS3). I installed it and copied my save file from my PS3 and copied that onto their PS3. When I tried to load the game it said "you did not create this save file". Is there any way around that? At this point I've just started a new game on their machine... but I would rather not have to play the game over again. (Sorry if this has been asked before.)

You can probably thank the trophies for that. When it was new, I had no problem at all moving my save file to play on my brother's PS3, and I didn't change the user on his console.

You may have to create a new user and enter your account info. You can delete it afterwards, I guess.

The dinging was always there. I remember the GPS lady would sometimes say "Ding Dong" and it made me laugh when I first got it.

Huh, I guess I just never noticed it. As soon as I did it annoyed the hell out of me.

The GPS only dings on the nicer cars iirc. If you are driving a beater it doesn't have that feature.
