Doki Doki Majo Shinpan! (どきどき魔女神判! ?, lit. "Thump-Thump Witch Judgement", or more accurately translated as "Heart-Pounding Magical Investigation") is a game developed by SNK Playmore for Nintendo DS.

A game journalist from Kotaku asked an SNK spokesperson if this game would be released in the US, and the response was "...this title is only for Japanese market. We do not have any plan for localize to the other versions.", despite the game originally having official sites in English, Chinese, and Korean. These were taken offline when the Japanese language site was rewritten to focus on the upcoming sequel game.

The player assumes the role of junior high school student Akuji. He has been asked by an angel, Lulu, to locate a witch that has snuck into his school. In order to find the witch Akuji must search the suspects' bodies for a "witch mark". The preferred method is by using touch (using the stylus to guide his hands).
Ewwwww.

Yeah, feeling up girls with a stylus is a sub genre in Japan.

New color seen on Amazon. Their "Spring Bundle" green. It includes the Cooking Trainer and a case and is $149.99 I'm considering it instead of Metallic Pink for my daughter. Not sure which she'd like better.

That cooking software is shockingly good and really useful. I would be tempted to go with the new bundle.

How is the Grand Theft Auto game hows the camera work for driving cars? I read alot of reviews and they all say that its no problem. I dont like to trust reviews for GTA games since GTA4 they all said the controls were great yet I found the controls awful.

So does the camera angle hurt the driving at all?

It's a top-down camera like the old 2-D GTA games. You can't really see what's coming up ahead of you too far in advance, but it doesn't matter because you're going slow enough to avoid things when you do see them.

My girlfriend went nuts at Christmas when she got the Cooking software thing, but has only used it a couple times. It is pretty useful from what I've seen.

It has 245 recipes broken by country or ingredients. There are definitely vegetarian recipes. Not sure of the exact number, but lots of stuff under salad, soup, noodles and vegetable that have no meat.

The nice thing is how much it helps you with making each dish. You first get the ingredient list. You can check off what you have and make a shopping list to get the rest. You take the DS with you and you can get all the other stuff you need. It takes you step by step with voice instructions, pictures and some video on making everything. You can even use voice commands to continue so you don't have to touch the DS at all while cooking.

It is really very well made and worth $20.

Thankfully the roads are straight and it has auto steering to help center your car when you turn a corner. It is top down, but the camera is always behind you and turns with you so it feels natural.

The negatives are the streets are fairly narrow so you will hit all kinds of stuff if you try and go fast. Also, there are cops everywhere. I have never seen a GTA with this many cops. I constantly have to deal with cops during missions because they are easy to run into and they frequently catch you jacking a car.

I'm enjoying it a lot, but it seems a harder game than GTA IV. Right now most missions are taking me 3 - 5 tries to pass where I passed most on the first try in GTA IV. The more frequent cops and narrow streets make the driving missions a bit harder this time around. However, I'm not at all frustrated with the game. Even when I fail I can usually figure out why and come up with an alternate way to try the mission. It is a very worthwhile purchase on the DS.

I've never played any of the GTA games, but decided to pull the trigger on this one after reading so many good reviews. I'm loving it. The driving is pretty easy - to a degree. You are going to crash into a lot of things. I don't know if it's my inability to steer using the d-pad, or my lack of gaming "skillz."

The game does assist you by keeping the car in the lane for you however. I'm having more difficulty walking and running than driving truth be told. It hasn't kept me from enjoying the game however.

Re: Official Nintendo DS Thread VIII: 65 Million Strong.. and Growing

Can anyone explain to me why the charging cable for the DSi has a different kind of connector socket than the DS? I didn't really pay attention until i have to charge the DSi at work (which i have extra DS charging cable). All this time, i charged at home thinking that the DSi and DS use the same cable. It makes no sense, less convenient for people have both DS and DSi (i don't label my cables)...

They make money off accessories, that's pretty much all there is to it. They changed the connector form the DS Phat to the DS Lite as well.

It's a DS stylus. I have the blue one, the lady has the orange one.

I don't think lack of skill has much to do with it. The game simply takes time to adjust to. I have gotten very used to the driving and now zip around without major issues but it took several hours to get comfortable. I went from repeating missions frequently to blowing through most on the first try once I got the driving down. Oddly enough I had similar issues at first with the driving in GTA IV.

The game missions get better and better as you go. The revenge of the prostitutes mission had me laughing out loud and they find pretty clever ways to work in the DS stuff into the missions. Just enough to keep it interesting and not so much you get tired of it. You end up using everything from a sniper rifle and flame thrower all the way to a dragon costume and a junky motor boat to complete missions. It is really challenging Vice City for my favorite GTA game.

So, I've been playing Space Ivaders Extreme the past few days. Damn, it's awesome. Definitely up there with Pac-Man: CE and Galaga: Legions in terms of quality re-envisioning.
