To spice up the free jogging try this

on each minute mark (or every 30 seconds if you prefer), sprint as fast as you can until your Mii trips over. Should take from 6-12 seconds.

I did that each minute during a 30 min free jog this morning and it really helps get your heart rate up just a bit more

I got it the day it came out, and have only used it a few times. Got distracted for a few days and neglected it. But now I am back and using it daily. I just wanna say that the Free Step Aerobic exercise is now my favourite. You can essentially go at any pace you want (they have different settings, but you can go slower or faster than them and it really doesn't make a difference). The best part is that you can watch something else while stepping. Right now I am watching "First Blood" and doing Free Step (obviously not right now, but rather just taking a quick break after 30 minutes straight).

Free Step? Is that something that needs unlocked? I did the basic and then the one after that but the third one is still grayed out for me..

How can you watch TV while doing Free Step being that you wouldn't see the steps to follow?

Also regarding the aerobics stepping... I can usually always get the perfect when stepping ON the board but 90% of the time I get "OK" when stepping OFF.. WTH?

I have the same problem. I get perfect stepping on, but okay stepping off.

As far as Free Step goes, it is indeed unlockable. The way it works is by making use of the Wii-mote's speaker. You control the pace with the D-Pad, and then by pushing A there are four different options for how to actually do the steps. By that I mean, one is a voice saying "1, 2, 3, 4" and you just step in sync with that, so you don't even have to see the screen.

You can also turn the mic sound "off," which is what I do and just step at my own pace, because the little voice or beeps get annoying after a while and distract me from whatever I am watching on TV.

The guy that taped his GF doing the hula hoop in her panties is SOOO BUSTED.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/webs...t-girl-ni.html

After Giovanny Gutierrez recorded a lithe, undie-clad brunette playing the Wii Fit hula hoop game, the video scored a lightning-quick 500,000 views on YouTube, and racked up a monstrous 9,000 Diggs.

Gutierrez has said that even though he works at an advertising firm, the video wasn't a viral ad for Wii, even if it really should have been.

No, it was just a surreptitious video of his girlfriend. "She loves Wii Fit — and even more," he wrote to me in an e-mail, she "looks hot doing it."

How did she react when she found out that he'd posted the video without telling her, and that hundreds of thousands of Wii fans were now drooling over her?

"She was FURIOUS," wrote Gutierrez, who said she "called me on the phone screaming her head off and then hung up on me."

"But now [she] finds herself actually laughing about it and enjoying her 15 minutes of fame."

Why stop at 15 minutes? Maybe she's got a future doing virtual underwear hula-hooping...

That is funny. The video of her doing the hula hoop always brings a smile during my day.

I tried this at a friend's place last week and was hooked. I dusted off my Wii, which as I had mentioned elsewhere, had not been turned on since October 2007 (or gamed with for over 10 minutes since August). The problem was actually finding Wii Fit. I checked Wal-Mart.com on Saturday morning and drove about half an hour to New Jersey to pick it up. It's been a lot of fun so far and I'm using it as a short quick "wake up" workout in the morning. Once I do my real workout at night I'm usually too tired for any yoga or anything.

I got lucky, I guess, on Sunday I walked into my Best Buy about opening time. Walked up to the table of 24 Wii Fit boards, grabbed one and left, with 3 other people in line with WiiFit too.
I love the Yoga stuff. I did more on that. The push ups are damn hard, but they do a great job. I felt really goofy doing the hula hoop, especially remembering the youtube video of the girl being recorded, but it really does do well. I think I spent around 90 minutes trying out all the different exercises. Great stuff.
I put a huge goal for myself, but I really do want to achieve it. I think this, along with the other things I've been doing, is really going to work.

My mom was over this weekend and wanted to see how this worked. I showed her a bunch of stuff (worked up a sweat) and then she wanted to try. She is 77 years old and pretty overweight. She did the body test and they had her do the single leg test. It said she could hold on to someone for support so I helped her. It must have made her pretty steady because she did well on the balance test. So well, that despite her age and BMI, she had a Wii Fit age of 27!

I unlocked the snowboarding game. That really works your abs and back!

I haven't lost any weight, but I have been doing it everyday, usually at least 20 minutes of the aerobics stuff and then a little more time on everything else. Since before I wasn't exercising at all that's a pretty positive change.

Wii Fit is "working out" the way Rock Band is "playing music" --- done properly, it's a rudimentary shadow of what it is trying to be. Done poorly, it just looks or feels like you're doing it, when you're not.

I hope for those of you who like it, it becomes a gateway to doing more. Which is good.

I bought the Wii and this a little over a week ago, and have been really enjoying both. My wife is totally into Wii Fit though, especially the hula hoop game. I'll have to do some searches here to find out other stuff about the Wii, but this thread will be great to go over for Wii Fit info.

I did a segment for the TV show I'm producing on the Wii Fit, and they've now turned it into a whole to-do.

http://twincitieslive.com/article/10899/

So I guess I gotta get serious about it

I don't have WiiFit yet, but I imagine it has more to do with diet. I bet it is possible to lose weight with WiiFit but not if you keep eating the same shitty food. Losing weight isn't just about exercise, but I'm sure everyone knew that.

Anyone see restocks of Wii Fit out there in stores? Been kind of loosely keeping an eye out, but haven't seen any on any shelves at Target or Best Buy.

Has more to do with HIIT and lifting. There's a ton of threads on it in Otter.

If you change your diet and use Wii Fit regularly, you can definitely lose weight. If you eat junk food and play it 10 minutes a day twice a week, then there's no benefit. I agree with Bus about Wii Fit being a "gateway drug" to more serious exercise and diet change. It's good as a motivational tool and for introducing you to some basic concepts and exercises.

I manage to get Wii Fit from TRU using the $10 off coupon. I think most people have space and TV position problems. The strength training is pretty hard, i think i need more practice and space to do them right. Mostly, we just play the balancing mini-games.

Wow, this is like losing a drinking buddy to AA.
