That sucks about not having your own houses, but I preferred the 'spinning globe' over the 'square to square' movement.
|
I like the spinning globe also. I think the reason why nintendo didn't make any major changes is because they don't have any competition for this type of game.

Wii Fit has two skiing minigames included -- a slalom course and a ski jump, both set on a closed track. We Ski is a third party game where you are on a ski resort with a dozen different ski slopes. There is slaloming and jumping, of course, but also moguls, curves, and things like that, along with "quests," races, etc. Basically, Wii Fit is two events at the Winter Olympics and We Ski is spending the weekend at a ski resort. |
Not having your own house is ridiculous. It was on the Gamecube version. This isn't a handheld. Multiple people will use this game most likely. I really wanted to get my girlfriend addicted to this. Absolutely fucking atrocious. The spinning globe thing I don't give a shit about.
That said, I will still buy it. I have to catch another coelecanth. I hope they add events that you can compete in with other people online. Foot races, or simple crap like that. I want more interaction than trading items and talking. Maybe you need friends to visit certain areas. |
I don't know why you're expecting anything but the basest of online functionality from Nintendo. Don't set yourself up for disappointment.

The spinning globe is silly IMO. It's like you are walking on top of the earth instead of walking in it. Nintendo should have taken all the things that made AC a smash hit on the GC and brought those features to the Wii version. |
Does anyone know how to delete games you have downloaded from the VC on the Wii? I got a couple of stinkers I would love to get rid of. Thanks for any info you can pass my way.

You need to go into the storage section of the Wii's menu and pick the "channels" tab. From there you can delete whatever you want. You might have to go into the "game saves" tab as well to delete any save states and game saves the channel created if space is a big deal, but those can be kept for later use if you re-download the title.

This was not mentioned before but there was an system update yesterday. It took about 5 minutes for me.
Apparently it just blocks hacker software and such here in the USA. |
I'm sure they'll continue to work their way around it.
|
You're wrong. Once you shut the currently open door on the hackers, they give up.

Yet the question remains, why waste your money on the Wiimakes when we know Pikmin 3 built for the ground up for Wii is on the way?
Back to the GC rereleases though I really hope they price it right. I think first reports were of them pricing it at $30-$40 yen equivalent. That is way too much. $20 max for a 6 year old game. |
i have a feeling I'll be sorely disapointed in animal crossing. I really hate that you can't have your own house that just blows. I like playing with my own town. On the GC My brother sister gf and I all had our own memory card so we could visit each others town and such. We all had our own DS and game so we could visit each others town that way too.
But now with built in memory and I doubt it if the memory will be transferable (why can't all game saves be transferable?) that is really going to blow. Another major blow on the DS that I'm sure will not be corrected is the missing holidays. I'm sorry but fishing tournament and acorn day just don't have the same appeal as christmas halloween and forth of july. It was a lot of fun taking a couple minutes out of a holiday to go visit your town and get exclusive stuff. I think that was a major draw for the game, it really helped you build a connection with your virtual town. |

So animal crossing is coming out in two different bundles. One will have wii speak and the other will be alone. Oddly enough only a few retailers will get the bundle version. What heck is up with this crap.
|
So has anyone tried Carnival Games: Mini Golf? I've been dying to get a good mini golf game for the Wii and so far they've all sucked.

Animal Crossing/WiiSpeak bundle box revealed, price worries continue Posted Oct 29th 2008 12:40PM by JC Fletcher A Portuguese Nintendo fansite happened to notice the appearance on Amazon of the Animal Crossing: City Folk/WiiSpeak microphone bundle. Only just now after looking at it have we realized what Nintendo has done here: they've guaranteed City Folk's bestseller status by making it yet another first-party Wii game with a bundled peripheral. It now joins Wii Play, Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Fit. People really love big boxes! http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendow...gbox102908.jpg Amazon's price for the bundle is a cause for concern. Either they never bothered to update to the $59.99 price or the price is back up to $69.99. We'd like to make an official announcement at this time: Wii Fanboy endorses the lower price this November. We think it's the right decision for this county. |
As has been said a lot before, the WiiSpeak (aka a microphone) and WiiMotionPlus (aka true 1:1 motion) should've been in the WiiMote from launch. Take those and a better online system (I despise friend codes now) and the Wii would have had an even bigger fan-base IMO.

I'll be frank, I hate the Wii. Freaking hate it. I keep mine for virtual console which I do enjoy. However, they were right to not cater to the core gamers at least for this gen. I'll be interested to see if it bites them in the ass though on their next console if the soccer moms don't follow and many of the core Nintendo fans have been pushed to the Xbox and Playstation. |
I'm finally seeing them in stock all over San Antonio. Go to a Wal-mart and they are in the case. Go to Costco and they have loads and loads of non-bundled Wiis. Go to Gamestop and they have signs that say Wii - Now in Stock!
