That's funny that Nintendo themselves are charging $14.99 for the wheel! What's weird is, there was something posted, somewhere, where it showed that Nintendo's suggested retail price for the Wii Wheel was $9.99. I've seen it with my own eyes, I just can't remember where. Regardless, around here, stores such as Best Buy, Circuit City, and Walmart are selling the Wii Wheel for $9.99. They have been since Mario Kart Wii launched. Of course, I guess if they get wind that Nintendo, themselves, are selling it for $14.99, then they may raise the price.

Just to add to the confusion...I just checked BestBuy.com, and they are charging $12.99 for the Wii Wheel:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1205538350084
Walmart.com is charging $9.96:

CircuitCity.com is charging $14.99:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Ninte...oductDetail.do
Target.com doesn't even offer it.
Why the strange pricing from all of these different sources?

I asked the manager of the Blockbuster about the wheels, wound up getting 2 for free. So if you're friendly with your local Blockbuster manager or worker, its worth a shot.

There is a possible way to escape the blue shell,
but timing is really really key.
You have to have a mushroom,
when the blue shell is just about to crash down on you, boost with a mushroom, and you actually can avoid the explosion.

Or you can hit one of the cannon's that shoot you out right before the blue shell hits you. That is even more rare, but I have done it.

Can somebody who works for Blockbuster Video help me answer a question?
My rental of Mario Kart got converted into a sale. I went to the store to ask for the wheel that should come with it. The clerk said it doesn't come with it, but I can purchase one for $9.99. I informed the clerk that there is no other way to purchase a copy of Mario Kart but with the wheel.
She then looked behind the counter for copies available for sale, all of which obviously contain a wheel in the large box. She then said when they received copies of the game for rental, only copies of the game were sent to them, no wheels. (although they have them for sale) So my question is this: is it true that their copies for rent do not actually come with a wheel?
(Yes, I know the obvious solution is to return the rental and buy a fresh copy. That's what I intend to do.)
Thanks for any help.

no way no how. Nintendo isn't going to create a completely different SKU just for blockbuster. Nintendo's business is selling units. The manual is trilingual just so they don't have to have separate ones for all the different languages.

Blockbuster doesn't "owe" you anything, so you might as well buy the full package somewhere else.
I strongly disagree with the fact that blockbuster does not "owe" him anything. I think its deplorable that they would hold the wheel from him and try to sell it separately for 10 bucks. They DO "owe" him a wheel, however because of thier greed I totally agree that he should return it and buy it elsewhere, the less money they receive the better in my opinion.

I also disagree. He paid for the game. The game comes with a wheel. They need to give him the wheel or the value of the wheel. However, if they sold you the game for $10 less than normal then that is different story.

Yeah, I went to a different BBV today (on the way home from work) and explained how my recent rental became a purchase. I asked about the wheel and this employee (its a different store than the actual one I rented from) also said the games came separately from the wheels.
If someone here works for BBV, can you confirm this? Either way, I think I'll just keep it for exactly 29 days and then return it. (~ $5 to rent the game for < 43 days is not so bad. In the end, THEY lose out since I took their game out of circulation)

But I'm sure we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this. As Baron of Hell noted, if the game was sold for $40 or less, then this is all a moot point anyway. Ultimately, if runner001 doesn't agree with Blockbuster's business decisions, s/he can and should take their business elsewhere.
