Last night I couldn't even get a friend code match to work. :(

I've still got plenty of people who said they "added everyone up to this post" but still show up as "waiting to be registered" on my list.

Also, last night I tried playing a few games and got booted after terrible lag times. I hope Nintendo gets more servers soon.

I think you were showing up as offline.

I'd like to find some more people on the East Coast to try this with to see if the lag times go down. It sounds like a lot of the early reviews of the online play were done with sites within 400 miles of each other and without a lot of Brawl players taxing Nintendo's network. Nintendo really needs to address this problem soon!

Anyone else still having issues connecting to random battles? I sure hope the Big N resolves this issue. I mean, as much disdain as I have for EA, their online component for Medal Of Honer: Heroes 2 shows that online can be done, and done well.

I had no problem with a 4-way random battle earlier tonight. Still have no confirmations from the friend codes I've entered... guess either I haven't been added back or the service sucks... or both.

I've added everyone on the latest list and only 4 of them show up as active on the friends roster.

Tried again to connect to some random matches and could not get into a single one. I wonder if the spectator matches are "real". I have no problem joining as a spectator, so I would guess that I shouldn't have trouble joining matches to fight.

EDIT: Ok, I guess spec. matches are not "real". They are basically ghost data of real matches. That's kind of lame.

I wonder if you need to be connect through the game for a while for the friend codes to match up. I've added everyone, but haven't spent a lot of time online in the past 3 days. It kept kicking me out while I was adding codes last night.

I think maybe both people need to be online at the same time. My friend locally and I were doing it on the phone and pretty shortly after we typed in the codes we were confirmed. Just a guess though.

I had a 4 way random fight last night. Worked well, I enjoyed that if I was getting my ass handed to me by 14 year olds I didn't have to hear their smack talk. However on a friend fight smack talk would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah not sure how this works. I added everyone above me a couple days back and everyone below me just now but still show all 23 people as Awaiting Registration. That would be pretty lame if you needed to be on at the same time to even register.

from my observations, I think it probably is true that both parties have to be online at the same time for the registration to take effect

I think the other part to note too is that it might not just be good enough to have the game on. I think you need to actually have the game sitting in the WI-FI mode so we unfortunately couldn't just have the game on playing SSE to kill the time. Not sure if you need to specifically be in Friends mode as well.

Got into some random brawl and team brawl last night (finally) but it was LAGTASTIC!!! It was actually kind of funny. The 2 minute match to 5 minutes to complete is was moving sooooo slow. My moves were lagging 10-15 seconds from controller input to screen.

Hopefully more of the DVDtalk friends will show up as active as people seem to report much better results when playing friends.
