I'll be banging on your door if these suck I just ordered some.

Go them from the same dude, but on ebay for 22.99 shipped

They have great bounce allowing you to be a little looser with the drumsticks and let the drums do most of the work.

I ordered mine from RockBandDrumPads.com. You get four colored pads the size of the drum heads (7") and four black pads (6.5") to put on top of those. I was very hesitant since these two pads combined add a lot of thickness to the drums, but all works well. It came with a free pad for the foot pedal as well for about $28 shipped.

I know someone mentioned having trouble with bubbles so a word of advice on installing them. Only peel back about 1/3 of the paper and align the sticky part on the drum head and start putting it down. Work the pad down while peeling the rest of the paper as you go.

I made my own pads like that back in December (with black finish as shown on that site) and have had no issues...plus the different 'tone' of the drum hits is so much better, I'm sure you'll enjoy them! (Ordering online is pretty easy, but it took me less than $10 in materials and about 30 min to make my own).

I'll second what L&O said, ordered a set over the weekend. Gotta figure out something to quiet the drums a little, since I haven't been able to play anytime the kid is down for a nap.

The $23 I spent was more than worth the 30 seconds it took to order them - and the 10 minutes to put them on.

20 minutes of my time is worth more than $13

Tell the kid to buck up and learn to sleep through it, Daddy's gotta get his game on.

I did that for Bioshock! Can't throw the kid under the bus two games in a row...

Now that I think about it, it was after you left that we suddenly were playing Metallica DLC, etc. I always felt like a bit of a douche playing on Easy/Medium with you guys playing Expert and me still coming in with a lower % score.

Still Alive is available in the 360 Marketplace already for those that don't know.

I'd recommend just trying one set of the pads before applying both. Two almost seems too thick to me. I say that because it seems you can't get the black off the colored pads once they are stuck. Getting them off the drum heads is fairly easy though.

Thanks for the tip - I'll check that first.

And I am sad that I don't get to make fun of you for not using the correct version of "to, too, two" when you used all three correctly in a sentence.

My wife bought some self stick craft foam from Michael's, a sheet was 98 cents, and they were in each of the colors. She used one of her round cutter things from scrapbooking to cut it round, then just stuck it to the drum pads (they are removable) They seem to work pretty well, definitely make it quieter. Doesn't make my playing any better, though.

Still Alive is pretty fun, albeit repetitive on guitar.

I would do that too, but for me it is prohibitively expensive, as I would need to pay for a wife.

Anyone feel like getting a quick game on? I suck terribly at drums, the best I can do is usually 3 or 4 star Easy. Guitar I'm pretty good on Medium, Hard throws me a curveball though so I don't attempt it online. Singing, I'd do but it's tough when the daughter is sleeping, I sound better if I sing a bit louder.

Feel free to hit me up, I'm That Guy Pete.

It is - not in the new releases yet, I had to look for it in the actual store. But it's there, and it's pretty fun. The guitar is "easy", but playing on Expert, it has some long repeated patterns that I can do for about 3/4 of the run and then my brain catches up with my fingers and it falls apart until I get to the next one

This is exactly my problem... I can hit it perfectly most of the way, and then all of a sudden my brain says "NO, not going to do that pattern anymore"
