Question about Sega Saturn cases
 

Does anyone here know where I can get a couple of those big jewel cases that were used for Saturn and Sega CD games? I want to trade in a few games to estarland.com, but before I do so, I need to replace the cases to the Saturn and Sega CD games I want to trade. I checked ebay for these cases, but I didn't see any.

I never understood the usage of these cases in the US by Sega, or Sony for the first 2 years of the Playstation for that matter. Hell, I'm not sure I understand using Full-Size DVD Cases for the current gen games...wouldn't slimlines be MUCH better for all involved? The worst, by far, were the cardboard Playstation long-boxes with the plastic disc tray barely glued inside. I remember we had a bad batch of Off-World Interceptor when I worked at a game store, and I had to ope every one of them, re-rubber cement the plastic tray in place, and then re-shrink them...just ridiculous.

All of it seems like a waste of money by all companies involved. Smaller cases would mean more titles on less shelf space, less shipping costs, less production costs. I know the theory was that "Americans" like bigger boxes and bigger cases because of the price of the item, or some shit like that, but it's ridiculous. I'm glad PC software, for the most part, has gone WAY down in size...but the packaging is still overly done on every front.

The worst packaging was the N64 with their cardboard boxes that eventually shredded to pieces. The Gameboy boxes were similar, but I had bought a holder for those games.
