It's on sale for $7.49 for a digital copy in the Xbox Store right now.

I had fun with this game when it came out, but it was very much a game of it's time. I can't imagine that it's be interesting to revisit this other than a brief nostalgia kick. It was a fun FPS on console for it's time, but archaic now.

Has anyone seen any updates on when this is releasing? All I can find online is the original announcement from September.

For some reason I was thinking the Xbox version would be a full on remake with updated (not just remastered) graphics and stuff but maintaining the core game (unlike the previous remake). Still cool. I’ll upgrade my Switch Online package and play it there.

The Switch version's controls suck ass compared to the Xbox. Maybe if one had the N64 controller accessory it would make more sense or be more intuitive.

Playing on Switch. The single player mode is harder than I remember. Granted I’m on the medium setting (Secret Agent), but I’ve only beat the first two missions and have died multiple times on each level.
Wouldn’t mind the N64 controller to see if it would make things easier.

Finished the third and fourth levels today. Getting a little better as I go. Some of the levels are kind of hard to navigate with no map.
The fourth level (Siberian Plateau) for instance so much of the terrain looks the same and is kind of hard to remember where I am and where I’ve been.
Really this is the first time I’ve played through a lot of the single player. My cousin had the game and I’m pretty sure he had already beaten it by the time my brother and I went over to play with him. That and the fact that we played more multiplayer than anything. I played through some of the levels occasionally but not super often.
We got our own copy but it was a lot later (actually I think my brother bought it when he went to college and bright the N64 with him).

To sum up:
Switch: Online multiplayer, bad controls.
XBox: Great controls, no online multiplayer.
PlayStation: Tumbleweeds.
Glad I'm not a PlayStation owwwwwno.

I'm glad everyone gets to play it again, but since they didn't modernize in any way, I think I'll sit this one out and just boot up the N64 when I have that itch.

Originally played it on N64 when it was released.
Love the controls on XBOX, and cool playing it full widescreen. Didn't like that it would slow down a bit even without enemies. Completed it on Agent difficulty, no big issues other than some levels with way too many enemies. Then tried Secret Agent, fuck that! The missions with way too many enemies are even more unfair. Only got through half of campaign before quitting. And the speedrun achievements are bullshit.
