How do you think they were making the XBLA version?

The almost-completed Xbox 360 version leaked like six months ago. It works well on an Xbox 360 emulator for what it is worth.

I don’t honestly know. What is it worth? Will it work well in todays’ console?

They wouldn't release a 360 game in 2022. It would have to be an XO game.

This seems like one of those games that would be best left to fond memories.

Hell no. I never played and really want to. It’s almost iconic.

Yea, if you’re used to modern FPS games… this would be quite a new experience with the ancient controls. And I’m sure YOU would have a fuck-ton of questions. But yeah in 1997, the multiplayer was the shit.

re: Goldeneye back on Xbox and Switch

I’m curious about this at least. Like many others I played the original game a bunch back in the day. I haven’t played it in years, and like a lot of the games from the N64 era it may not hold up the best, but with the updates maybe it could be fun. Have to see how it turns out if it’s actually happening.

re: Goldeneye back on Xbox and Switch

An official Goldeneye port/remake will likely never happen. The rights are too complicated for what would likely be too little return.

However, Goldeneye Source, which is a Half Life mod that can be played on steam, is a blast. It's all the fun of the original GoldenEye, but without the crummy graphics and archaic controls. Seriously, trying to play the original today is almost impossible unless you haven't played an fps since the 90's.

*Edit* didn't realize people actually think this is close to happening. Figured this was all just old data. Could be fun if done right.

It's new because the Achievements add up to 1000 and XBLA games were limited to 200 back when this Goldeneye Remake was being developed.

Isn't Goldeneye Source the multi-player part only? No emulation of the single-player campaign portion of the original game I mean.

Yeah, you're probably right.

I have no interest in single player, so I never even considered it wasn't part of the game!

Cool that it’s confirmed and to get that teaser. I’ll definitely check it out for old times sake.

With the weird rights issue this title has been dealing with for many, many years, I have to assume that this was a concession that Nintendo demanded to allow the game to be imported to the Xbox.
The Nintendo version will have online play

If you don’t have Gamepass and you want to buy game on Xbox, you can purchase the digital copy of Rare Replay and you get Goldeneye 007 for free.

GoldenEye 007 will be made available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as part of Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, players who own a digital copy of Rare Replay, the 30-game compilation of classics from the award-winning studio behind GoldenEye 007’s original release, will be able to download and enjoy the game free of charge.

When is this out? I believe I bought the rare replay. I think just for Conker’s Bad Day whatever. I remember it didn’t play the same.
i can’t wait for this. Never played but heard great things. As classic as Halo.

I own a physical copy of Rare Replay. I wish that qualified for a free copy but it didn’t seem like it.

So will this actually have Brosnan's likeness? The last "remake" had Daniel Craig, IIRC.
