How do you like to play your games?
As I stare at all of my unfinished and/or unopened XB360 games, I started to ponder "how do I like to play my games?" By this I mean, do I like to play them from start to finish, play whatever whenever I want or some sort of combination of styles. Generally, I try to play them from start to finish and get all of the achievements I want to get before moving on to the next game however lately it seems I'm jumping from game to game without a care in the world. This does start to bug me though when I see games I bought over a year ago and haven't finished them yet, either the campaign or achievements. Examples: Kameo, Tiger Woods 07 and Call of Duty 2.
So, "how do you like to play your games"?
A) Start to finish - Campaign? You start a game and do not play anything else until you at least finish the campaign. Then you move on to something new.
B) Start to finish - Campaign & Achievements? Same as A except you don't move on to a new game until you obtain all of the achievements you want to get.
C) Wanderer? You start a game then move on to another then another whenever you feel like it not even worrying about finishing the campaign or getting the achievements. You don't even care if/when you come back to the first game you started.
D) Other? Please describe.
Thanks for joining in!
I'm also curious about what you do with your games once finished. I'll save that one for another thread.

I usually play "Start to distraction" I start a game and try to finish it, but if a new game/rental comes in and I'm just not enjoying the current one (or sometimes even if I am) I move on to the next one. Of course this means I now have a slew of 1/2 finished games that I'm not sure I'll ever get around to finishing

My brain wants me to be an A or B, play games in order, completing all tasks, making lists, uncovering all secrets, etc.
But in practice I just play while it's fun, rarely "completing" any game. I have a very short attention span and move between games, consoles, and other hobbies/interests on a minute by minute basis.

A.
I play through the campaign start to finish. No concern whatsoever for achievements & whatnot. I very rarelly play through something more than once (probably the Resident Evil series being the lone exception).
D.
As I've become older and time is more valuable I'm more prone to give up on a game if I lose interest.

Up until November I was in group B up until around November. I'd complete a game and achievements before moving on.
Now I have a case of "stack-itis." I've go so many unplayed or even started games I don't know what to play so lately I've been jumping back and forth between a handful of them.

If Im cruising in the game-- start to finish. Sometimes I get stuck on a level or whatever and give up. Those games are the suck. Sometimes I pop in a game and realize within an hour or two I hate the controls or the gameplay. I havent played a video game in months. I have a ps2 with about 20 games and maybe 5 of them unopened. I buy mostly cheap games or new released sports games or new released series that I know I like, so those dont go unopened

C, I play through games very slowly and tend to jump titles.

on story games i try to play them through as far as i can b/c i know that i won't remember much about the game if i leave and try to come back (like mario games where skills and locations might be forgotten). on sports games and other games i tend to play less b/c i know i can come in and out of the series without losing interest.

I play games until I decide that I don't want to play anymore. Regardless if the game is completed. I don't like to continue playing a game just to finish it if I'm not really into it.

A mostly. I play only one game, and continue for the achievements until a new game comes along.
For example I played COD4 heavily, and stopped on mile high after the 300th try, not I probably won;t play it again. My next game will be R6:V2 or GTA.

i try to play them from start to finish, but sometimes i get stuck and just let them sit there for a few months (or longer ex. metroid prime 3) then i get around to beating them.
i hated it when i took too long of a break on FF9 and kingdom hearts (close to a year) when i went back i was confused

Mixture of B and D (Naked)....seriously, I'll play crap for achievements (see Jumper) and good games I'll sit with for a day or 2 and beat it, then it's on to the next.

Im a mix since alot of my games arent story driven....i can hop between em like guitar hero, Katamari, Viva Pinata, etc that i randomly get in the mood for.
story driven games depends if its badass ill play thru till the end like bioshock/dmc4....after i beat i hop around for achievements...like all te damn orbs in crackdown.
